That's a short sighted way of looking at it. It's not a beer league where you just tell a guy to stand there and start one time bombing the goalie. He needs to be able to play more than trigger man. If he's not capable of doing that, you're not wasting a roster spot on an incomplete player.

Only 1 of his 10 goals are on the PP. He has 9 PP assists. I don't think he's a 1 trick pony

I trust Bott's ability to negotiate. Skinner may see the scenario where "If I don't force them to pay full UFA value, this team I'm committing to can spend extra resources elsewhere to be good"

It's a relatively common circumstance with premier players around the league, such as Stamkos, Crosby, McDavid and Eichel. (Skinner is neither). He's a 7M player that may be paid 8. I would think 8 is extremely reasonable.

Not to really wanna go "there" but that's not how addiction works. Seen and faced plenty of it in family/friends.

However these players are making Millions to play a sport, they have all the help in the world afforded to them with substance abuse programs lead by their respective sports leagues. and most of the drug use is weed. you only get if your lucky 5-8 years to play and make your Millions, put the blunts down for those years, make your 100 mill then move to Colorado or any state that allows weed and smoke all you want..

Most of the drug use in professional sports is probably alcohol, steroids or pain killers not weed. Also your post is nonsense, addictions don't magically go away because you are rich and most addictions are from trauma from childhood but not all. So to say put the blunt down while you make cash is like saying just turn your trauma off. Nonsense.

Most drug abuse the result of trauma, or ptsd. it also will have come from your childhood but it is not a rule. Its like you are saying you are making money so turn that part of your brain off.

Brett Favre got injured and became addicted to painkillers and was quite severe.

Its complete nonsense, fine you don't have sympathy but making money doesn't take trauma away.
