I mean I can give you $42M reasons why giving Skinner a long-term deal can blow up in our face too but sooner or later you have to keep players in your organization. If the Leafs win the cup in the next 5 years do you think they'll care if Tavares becomes absolutely useless ?

I was in section 105 for the Arizona game 14 rows up.
Sold my seats and bought better last minute.

The "hit somebody " guy was there that night as well.

There are some good UFAs available next summer around the 26/27 age. I like JT Miller, but what are you giving up to get him?
Some of the UFAs available:
Mark Stone
Brett Connolly
Kevin Hayes
Michael Ferland
Ryan Dzingal
Artemi Panarin
Brock Nelson
Matt Duschene
Alex Chiasson
Marcus Johansson
Anders Lee

Of course some will be resigned, but some teams simply won't be able to afford them. Some might want out of a bad situation like Ottawa. All are (I believe) hitting UFA status for the first time and coming to a young, upcoming team like Buffalo may seem like a good opportunity as opposed to what the Sabres have been thought of in the past.

Stone should easily be our top target
*dont think we have a shot at Panarin

Then maybe get Hayes or Nelson to play center for a few years (3 or 4 year deal?)
By then, hopefully either Asplund or Davidsson is ready to take over as 3C
Asplund might just top out as a good defensive 4C though

I was refering to the Okopso contract as he put up big numbers in a contract year with a superstar Centre. There will always be risk with a long term deal no matter the player.

I would like to move 5 or 6 bodies off the roster to be able to target a few of these guys

I'd kick the tires with Schenn

skinner like trade

- homiedclown

Would StL move on from him so quickly?
If they’re floating him out there,
I’d definitely call to see what it would take

They housed us in that last trade though
Botts should play the “you owe us from the Berglund mess” card

Schenn for a 1st and one of our “good” prospects...
how about we give them back Thompson?
Lol

no love for parrish or schneider

let alone rammer

- homiedclown

Before my time
Tallinder might actually be kinda cool
He was better here than ppl gave him credit for

My first favorite Sabre was Foligno,
who i vaguely remember just bc of his goal celebration

Then LaFontaine, then Briere,
then Berglund😂😂😂

Watch out
I’ve been told that was a good trade
Didn’t you know Berglund scored 17goals in 57games last year?

- jdfitz77

Berglund was a throw in with negative value.

It's not that hard to understand?

Dude it’s whatever point suits them today.

Berglund was a cap dump on Wednesday, on Thursday he was expected to be our second line center, on Friday he was supposed to be a locker room leader.
