Did he get off of that suspended without pay?
Honestly, I wouldn't mind him on the hawks. - I Am The Breadman
Bergland is terrible -- have you watched him play? Blues were thrilled to get rid of him. Some of the posters on this board will take any POS as an upgrade and a mentor. Glad you're not our GM -- and I hate Stanbo! |

I couldn't agree with this more. Gus is always a balancing act of whether his offense will eclipse his defensive shortcomings which are almost always on full display. If you can turn him into something useful, that would be great. - hereismike1
Gus obsession is a psychological disorder. While he is fair game for criticism he receives a disproportionate amount, as any honest assessment of a game will show he makes no more mistakes than Keith and Joki and Seabrook is in a class by himself.
Whatever deficiencies he does have are made up by his ability to create and support the play offensively. It is not by accident he is on the ice with Kane a lot. He will continue to grow and become more efficient in his own end, shrinking the gap between him and other defensemen, however, none of them have his upside offensively.

You could be right. I think they will see what they have in Delia (and I'm board with that) but the way Ward played, he's going to get a shot to play until he loses/doesn't play well. - Justin Lowe
And - you could be right - but to what purpose?
Playing Ward predominantly would do nothing for the future of this team - and very little for the present - a handful of wins maybe (for we don’t know what Delia can do). |

I haven't seen him play in awhile. I remember him being a decent depth guy in Stl, must be further back than I remember, haha.
Someone mentioned he could have a terminated contract. I don't know if that's true. I should have clarified I was operating under that mindset. Sorry. |

The teams goal is always to win. If Cam is playing lights out, unless we have a tough back to back he's likely going to start night in and night out. Delia will get a shot at some point though. Cam played one game and showed why Stan signed him to a one year contract, because he's more than capable of being a solid goalie (if provided with solid defense in front of him). He could lay an egg the next and then you will likely see Delia get his shot, but until Cam fails and Delia steps up, we're gonna see more of Cam |

He’s on a 15-20 goal pace - pretty good from the blue line on a team with too little forward scoring ability.
Develop him; somehow a good coaching staff should be able to turn him into an acceptable defensive player.
Development seems to be a forgotten task with this group. |

I’m not suggesting a tank - playing Delia over Ward does not equate to playing to lose - it’s playing to develop. |

I don’t want him, but looks a lot like there were some underhanded things at play here. Yeah the Blues were thrilled to get rid of him, maybe a little too thrilled. |

The Blues did nothing wrong. Its not their responsibility to remind him to turn in his list. He and his agent are the ones who messed up. |

What about Joki when he returns? - SoftServe
I'd go with what Savetheembers33 suggested:
Keith - Jokiharju
Dahlstrom - Murphy
Forsling - Seabrook
Manning/Gustafsson
Colliton loves Gustafsson so I see him paired with Seabrook although I prefer Forsling. If Gustafsson can significantly improve his defense, then sure go with him. Can't argue how great he is offensively. Pretty dynamic.
But in comparison, Forsling is a stronger two-way defender and he's not fully consistent playing defense which underscores how bad Gustafsson is in his own end. And defense is a major weakness for the team. If a defenseman can't play defense, then is he really that valuable over other defensemen who can? |

It the same wisdom that Q used when he refused to even give Forsberg a sniff well playing Ward and his .857 SV % In every game to start the season |

I’m not saying they did or didn’t just that it’s possible they did. He had a full no-trade clause that expired on June 30th and it switched to a modified no-trade clause (was listed as a 10 team list), on July 1st the day he was traded. I have no way of knowing if his agent was asked to supply a list or what requirements regarding the list were spelled out in his contract.
I’m not just going to assume the Blues hands are clean. |

I also can't believe these fans who pine for other teams rejects on bloated contracts and all the while willing to give up a player like Gustafsson for nothing, a player who barely makes minimum salary for an NHLer. |
