Might be a good time to chuck the GM hat in the ole wood stove. Grab a few cold ones and watch this Leaf team in operation. Been awhile since any single team had this much talent. And some folks want to trade it for trash.

So, explain to me why we have to overpay for those 3 guys, and why Gardiner is worth poop?

You guys will overpay for a top 4 Defensemen, it just matters who do you overpay for. Once you can come to grips with this, you can start thinking about who do you want. No one will be the "perfect" fit. The leafs will have to take a risk..

Also, Dougie Hamilton is the right fit.
Also, Leaf fans have a pretty good idea of expecting too much out of dmen acquired from other teams. Remember Dion Phaneuf? The grass isn't always greener, and the dmen aren't always better on other teams.
