Damn those leafs fans who want to add a quality young dman. Damn them!
Hamilton - good nowhere near a tire fire
Manson- decent, not a tire fire
Muzzin - ok, not a tire fire
Pesce - good nowhere near a tire fire
Parayko - really good, nowhere near a tire fire. - Fakepartofme
We won last night.. everyone else is complete garbage and adding them is the most retarded thing of all time

How can leafs afford another dman with current structure. According to cap geek they have 23 million in cap space next year. Best case scenario M&M cost 20 mil but more like 22-23 million. That at best leaves 3 million left to spend on 10 roster spots. even if you get rid of Horton and Marleau. You will have 15 million for 11 spots. That means everyone will have to average around 1.3 million. So you will need to trade Kappy and Johnsson for dman under rookie deal.
Please look at the Numbers you cant afford a Dman unless you trade Marner or Nylander. Simple as that. Even then he will have to be under 4 mill a year to make things work. |

It could mean any number of things.
"The players just play so they're more relaxed" maybe
or
"We feel like we let the opposing team play against our strengths"
Keep in mind they're 9-5-1 at home, which is good enough for over 100 points prorated over an 82 game season.
Maybe they play better hungover and he doesn't wanna say it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ - TheMussel
Or maybe he just spit something out without really putting any thought into it.
The Leafs are 13-5-1 on the road, and 9-5-1 at home. That's not really a huge discrepancy.
It may just be that they are loaded with talent on the road, and loaded with talent at home.

It's a courtesy to make sure players aren't traded while their children are opening presents and have to move the family during the holidays. - AdamFrench
And yet I still check Hockeybuzz on December 25th while my kids are opening their presents.
There may be a trade freeze, but it doesn't prevent Ek from hearing roomers. |

Yeah just wait. It will be so much fun watching leafs fan sweat in summer. and get so mad when Dubas trades Kapp for picks because he cant take back salary.
Ps looks like Nylander had to many timbits in offseason. Going to hurt trade value. |

He’s the same guy that said Marner deserves Echiel money but isn’t anywhere close to as good as him. He said just because Marner is getting points doesn’t mean they matter.
And he can’t work a calculator. Ask him about the Toews and Kane deals that they signed off their ELC deals and what they would be in today’s cap. Or better yet next years 83 million...he gets very confused and talks in circles. |

Welcome to the Leafs bandwagon, you'll enjoy the next few years I'm guessing.

So who do you guys think makes the playoffs in the Eastern Conference??? It's a rather complicated picture.
Locks
Tampa
Leafs
Washington
In a playoff spot, but will probably drop out.
Islanders. Since their 5 game winning streak in october/Nov, they've gone 9 wins, 11 losses, and that includes their recent 3 game winning streak. In other words, they had a 6 win, 11 loss run. I don't think they COULD drop out, I think they WILL drop out.
Montreal - I think one of Boston or Montreal misses, and i thin kit's more likely Montreal.
In a playoff spot, will probably keep it, but no guarantees.
Boston - They'll probably make it, but if injuries continue, they could miss.
columbus - I think they probably make it, but they're not world beaters.
Buffalo - I do'nt see them dropping out at this point. But I think there is a good chance they end up in a wildcard spot. The third Atlantic seed will likely be them or Boston.
outside aplayoff spot, but will probably snag one.
Pittsburgh
NYR (playing pretty well, and Lundqvist is good enough to drag them to one singlehandedly).
tha'ts my perspective.
My bets:
Tampa
Leafs
Buffalo
Washington
Columbus
Pittsburgh
Boston
NYR
Anyone else's thoughts?
