Seriously. If Namestnikov gets one for embellishment, Getzlaf shouldn't have to go.

Same reason Sami Vatanen, Radko Gudas, Dougie Hamilton, Chris Tanev, Josh Manson, Justin Faulk, Jake Muzzin, Brett Pesce and numerous others get brought up. People want a dman, name one, and are then adamant for a whole summer that the guy is the fix, regardless of if they're any good or not. Majority of the time, they turn out to be a tire fire. Can you imagine having to watch Sami Vatanen every game? Jake Gardiner is enough.

Manson- decent, not a tire fire
Muzzin - ok, not a tire fire
Pesce - good nowhere near a tire fire
Parayko - really good, nowhere near a tire fire.

honestly I don't think Parayko is a great player - at least he's quite far away from the MacAvoy - Provorov - Seth Jones category..

Should be 4mins for Getzlaf, 0 for Namestnikov; 2 for charging and 2 for fighting.

Ya the reffing is garbage, but no one at the nhl us calling them out.

I don’t think leafs are getting a player in that category as those are basically the only guys in that category aside from like 1 or 2 more.

It's a courtesy to make sure players aren't traded while their children are opening presents and have to move the family during the holidays.

It could mean any number of things.

"The players just play so they're more relaxed" maybe

or

"We feel like we let the opposing team play against our strengths"

Keep in mind they're 9-5-1 at home, which is good enough for over 100 points prorated over an 82 game season.

Maybe they play better hungover and he doesn't wanna say it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
