Looking forward to being able to see Pettersson play against the Lightning tonight. That kid from the highlights I have seen looks like a real good one.

I wonder who they will try to match him up against with last shift but what makes the Lightning so hard to play is they roll 4 lines with every line getting around 12 minutes or more a game so its hard to scheme against the Bolts.

As for the Bolts if their fore-check and puck retrieval game is going you will marvel at how long they can sustain pressure in the O-zone and still get line shifts during it. Very fun team to watch so much speed and skill. Bolts fans are lucky to get to watch them play this season. Very underrated player to watch is Anthony Cirelli for the Bolts.

Point and Barzal seem to be the compatibles for EP for now, but it could be much more serious players at the end of the year.

I like Sutter, but this team desperately needs to fix their D.

A tough task for JB who already has a tough time acquiring picks. Taking the trade route isn't easy either.

That works as well, although Cirelli is a leftshot, that can play the Left wing position.
Also never have enough players that can play centre. IMO.

I would love Edler to replace Girardi in the top 4 of the Bolts D to make a run this year at the cup. The local radio here said Tampa tried last year to get Edler but he wouldn't budge on his NTC so the Lightning have interest in him. I guess it would all come down to the price Vancouver would want for him. I see him as a 3 month rental then he signs back with Vancouver after the season.

The Lightning really need a RD top 4 Dman. How has Tanev been this year? Is he on the trade block?

I don't think the Canucks will move Tanev this season. They will probably keep him for next year to support Q. Hughes' transition to the NHL. Edler's likely the big piece this year, and yes probably as a rental and re-sign.

Maybe with some salary retained and draft picks or other pieces exchanged to balance things out, Tampa would part with Cal Foote? Canucks desperately need high-end D prospects who aren't 5 years away.

was never the fastest or best defenseman by any means, but he sure had the teams back whenever they needed it. Also got a contract but knocking out a cocky russian while on a PTO so that is pretty badass

They need a high-end left winger to pair up with Horvat (as an upgrade over Baertschi). They also need young, high quality D prospects who will be ready to play top 4 minutes within 3-4 years. Hughes is a good starting point but they're going to need at least a couple more.

lol I liked him as a trash talker and a fighter, but never liked him as a defenseman. His superman punch KO's are fantastic though.
