Bieksa: I've gone 15+ years without talking about Fedorov story publicly & believe its not a story that needs to shared by me. It worked out well for me but easily could not, could've been end of my career so not something I boast about.
But I did dust the guy & he asked for it. - LeftCoaster
I listened to Auld tell the first hand story of this in great detail. I use to be critical of it but now I know the story. Bieksa did what any hard ass would have done.
The story is pretty funny actually. Waiting outside for Bieksa with his shirt off.

That's what you think about a 3-2 game with 3 minutes remaining - VANTEL
I guess I mean poise, calmness, tape to tape passes, hard deliberate hits, excellent goaltending.
I was glad to see push back on a cheap shot, but why didn’t they initiate hits like that on Stamkos or Point. Small moral victory for standing up but not something to hang my hat on.
I thought Tampa played with poise and skill and the Canucks played catch-up. |

I knew they were facing a loss after my dog was chasing bubbles down PomPom Creek. I chose not to say anything as to not hurt any millennial feelings. - Marwood
Damn forgot about those guys, I thought they were emboldened by the stand up for Pettersson scrum |

Brendan Batchelor
Danick Martel says he feels it was a “good hit” on Stecher. Says he felt he got shoulder to shoulder contact.
I also agree with your assessment of the game.
Two guys went after some no name, so they targeted Van's best player. Seems far that a guy with 5 games gets injuried compared to your best player. |

They did play catch up they also had a chance to tie the game with 3 minutes left . Edler
Canucks didn't dress their best line up and haven't all year. The team is trying to accomplish many things including a high draft pick and development of prospects.
Canucks believe it or not do have better players in their system than Pouliot MDZ Biega and one or two forwards. And good on them for not rushing them.
You can view the game as a 5 -2 ass kicking or you can view it as entertaining game where a very young team kept up with the big boys for 57 minutes. |

I thought it was one of the most entertaining games we have seen this year. Like you said, for 57 minutes, the Canucks were in it and keeping up. Like Makita said, you can tell the difference in skill though, as yes, Tampa's passing and breakouts and defense and offense were all a few steps ahead of the Canucks, but it was a damn good game none-the-less |

Well said. Again, great to see some pushback on the Stecher blind side but after Paquette went after Petey it should have been full on go-time on Stamkos and Pointe.
Tit for tat. |

I agree. Edler did take a few healthy runs at Kucherov, and seem to give him a charlie horse (I think somewhere in the middle of the 3rd). But I agree, Stamkos and Point should have had a few healthy runs taken at them in response, but at this point, its hard to complain about the teams push-back after everything they did. |

Kucherov was the target of a few heavy hits. That counts for something. |

I would say they more than kept up they finally showed what I wanted to see. Best game I watched them play all season as far as your team sticking together. If the referees are not going to call that bull$hit the team needs to step up and they did. If there is ever a such a thing as a good loss this was it.
Edler was a dumpster fire though.
I'm guessing the league will deal with Tampa's BS. If they don't I can see Benning pulling the old Burke style criticize the league and officiating interview on the air. |

Nillson proved last night why Marky has been getting more starts. 2 of those he let in were bad. Especially considering we were right in the game for the full 60. Like Vantel said the score didn't reflect the game. |

I think the run at EP was in reaction to the hit kuch took where he was slow to get off the ice ...Tampa didn’t like it
So it kinda was tit for tat if you follow it in chronological order |

NHL says no hearing for Martel |

I only seen highlights of this game, but by all accounts, the game was entertaining, shots were even, and the boys showed that they can compete with the best in the league, despite not having nearly the same amount of talent.
This team finally showed they have some balls and pretty good character.
I said at the start of season and I will say it again, if the team plays well, and still loses, fine, the entertainment factor, compete level and improvement, at this stage of the rebuild is what matters most.
A game like that brings the team closer together and helps build confidence for moving forward, well done boys. |

NHL says no hearing for Martel - Redmile247
I didn't see the game live but watched the replay, I saw the Martel hit but it did not look like direct head contact, one was it and two if so does anyone have a link to share? I saw one but it was hard to tell, first impression was it was a shoulder on shoulder. |
