More Dave Hakstol replaced by Scott Gordon as #Flyers begin search for coach, but sources have updated to say it won’t be Joel Quenneville this season:
Was it confirmed that anyone front the Flyers even contacted him?
Still sounds like piss poor journalism from Isaac to me. - hereticpride
Isaac's source told him that someone in the organization talked to Quenneville. If Fletcher is saying that he didn't contact Chicago or Q, then it has to be Scott. According to Ant SanFilippo, Hextall and Scott didn't get along and Hextall felt that Scott was trying to stick his hand into the hockey operations side of things. Scott is obviously losing his mind because not only have the Flyers been mediocre this season, but attendance is down and their losing money. He wants drastic changes and an energized fan base--hence, Hextall gets canned, and ultimately his pursuit for Quenneville, which as we can see, has gone nowhere.
Everyone was worried about Holmgren taking over or still being President, but I'm more worried over Scott because all he cares about is money.

Some reports have suggested Q could start as an advisor this year to help shape the team but not take over until 2019 to give himself time with his family. - Tfaehner
If he is hired as an advisor, why would the players listen to Gordo? They've already tuned out one coach, whats another lame duck to them?
They will be paid regardless. I think Simmonds knows he wont be a Flyer after 2/25.
So Why bring in the new coach as an advisor and let the Gordo take the fall?

Well, one thing Hextall did that was proven right, was too keep a tight lid on the organizations plans. This was a sh!t show, and I’d revoke the press pass of the reporter/s who ran with the story, and track down the mental midget who leaked information. Made the whole organization look the Keystone Kops. Ridiculous!! - Hokeeguy9
Or maybe they shouldn't of fired the man who actually had a plan?

Would anyone be willing to shop Ghost for a top offensive prospect just about ready to be called up and then call up Myers to replace Ghost? - hereticpride
I would be open to anything to improve the team, but assuming Myers will be able to jump into the lineup would be a scary thought. The team already has Sanheim and Hagg (yes I know people assume he is a 5 year vet, but he is at the same stage as Sanheim) and adding Myers could make it more bumpy. Plus could Myers actually replace Ghost? I mean this year anyone can shoot pucks at the other team, but can he replace Ghost from last year? Probably not for awhile if he could. It all depends what other moves are done.

The more realistic option is that Isaac received false info and ran with it. Scott has zero reason to go behind anyone's back here.

Fair enough. There will certainly be an adjustment period for Myers when he reaches the NHL just like anyone else.

Exactly. The situation the Flyers are in right now is really tough because so many major changes have taken place that the logical reaction is to regroup with the new people in place. Of course this is Philadelphia so everyone wants big news and changes right away, but using performance under the previous people in charge. It's not like it was only one or two players that were playing badly, basically the whole team regressed. New Gm, new head coach, new defensive coach, new AGM...will players become what they once were? Do you really want to trade them if they do?
Again this is a terrible situation, but the Flyers can only blame themselves. You don't wait for the bridge to collapse to fix it, these changes should of been done a while ago when it was first seen.

This is playing out like a Eric Bischoff era WCW storyline.
Just when you think it cant get more ridiculous the Shockmaster comes bursting through the wall.. and trips...
If you dont know what any of that is...

Wow I haven't followed wrestling in forever, but I remember this. Pretty sure that was the British Bulldog with beaded hair, right? Ric Flair's hair still makes me laugh, reminds me of a 70's adult actress.
