Someone asked Fletcher in the press conference about the timing of Hart's call up and he said it was strictly because of the health of the current crop of Flyers goaltenders.

I think the move also says that Alex Lyon is not viewed as an NHL goaltender by the Chuckster.

Hakstol flying across the country WITH Fletcher -- with reports that he had been fired -- but not only Hakstol saying he was gonna be giving an injury update on Elliott today, but Bill and others saying the Flyers said Hakstol was still the coach and was running practice today and the Flyers stating last night that Hakstol was "still our coach"

Fired, getting fired, whatever word salad makes you feel cool because the coach you hated got fired -- Fletcher shouldn't have let Hakstol speak to the media last night if he was firing him today. This whole scenario was an embarrassment

He was injured before the Buffalo game, then took a punch to the gut of his confidence and followed that by playing behind the Phantoms who couldn’t give him consistent play or goal support. In short, he is not really at his normal level of play.

No matter what you think of Dave Hakstol as a coach, I don't think he's stupid.

He knew he was a lame duck and was twisting in the wind. Pressing for a vote of confidence was smart and for the best for everyone involved. Fletcher did the right thing.

It is patently obvious that the players have tuned Hakstol out.
