a fact the skunk haters ignore

- homiedclown

And I'm not saying Berglund is a good employee, just that I think employees get treated like absolute poope in America regardless of the line of work they are in.
- BeadyEyedDouche

The ones that get treated like Poop are the franking lazy entitled ones..The hard working, reliable ones go pretty far..

Why did Girgs not produce with Jack? Why did Pommer fall off?

Again, Samson has 32pts in 34g. It isn't all Jack.

Pray tell, who he has to produce with?

Middlingstats?

Okposonoshowevenwhenheshows?

Sobotka?

Rodriguez?

Larsson?

Girgensons?

I rekon if we had a 2nd line center at all, we would be talking about how great Pommers is performing in his role as a 2nd/3rd liner.

Seriously, with a bum like Okposo on the team the last thing anyone should be doing is criticizing Pominville.

where to you work at a Vietnamese sweat shop? Sure life is not fair, but in any job that I have had, hard work and determination has always served me very well.

Could Skinner do it without Eichel? Is Skinner good?

I rest my case.

- RhinoFan

Skinner was one of the best 5 on 5 goal scorers in the NHL over the past three years in Carolina

Now he’s on pace for 60 goals.

I mean can we at least be honest here?

Eichel is here

Skinner is here

Reinhart is here

Been a long time since we’ve seen that. 06/07 Sabres didn’t even have guys doing that.

It’s so bad here for employees that americans are flooding the southern border to move to central/South America......

Bro I Love Samson, i agree with you. But come on, comparing Girgs to Sam is crazy and Pommer is old he can't keep up.
- hehateme

Reinhart is a good player.

Acting like he’s doing the same for Eichel, that Eichel is doing for him is beyond ludicrous.

They are all playing well together. People should just shut up about it and stop acting like we don’t want Reinhart to do well.

Fixed.

Skinner is great 5v5. True. However, looking at his time in Carolina, it's obvious Eichel does curb up his production. I'm not arguing that Samson doesn't get help, but most on here view him as a 3rd line guy or a complete bust, just subsisting off of Jack and Skinner...this simply isn't factual.

I think regardless of all of this, it was a bad look by the Blues organization.

They basically swindled both the player and the Sabres organization.

The trade happened on July 1. The start of the off-season. I mean, come on, this is pretty blatant cap circumvention by the Blues, TBH.

Instead of approaching the player to submit an updated list, they traded him the SECOND they had the chance.

This just goes to show that employers are shady no matter what your line of work is. It's simply in bad taste to have traded him the literal first day he had a modified NTC kick in on his ludicrous contract to begin with.

He showed up to the Sabres, was promised top-9 minutes and was given no chance to develop chemistry with his team mates, on a team that finished DEAD LAST in the standing last year.

I am ALWAYS for the employee in these situations. If I was hired to be an NFTA bus driver and they made me go drive a school bus for middle school kids, I would be furious, wouldn't you?

That said, he isn't acting any more entitled than any other athlete, ever. Yeah, he made a couple poor decisions, but come on, these are people, too, with a grueling travel schedule, and habits just like the rest of us.

Say he got hammered and was too hung over to make the flight the next day... How many of us have done this? And if we hated our jobs... Well, how many of us have no call/no showed a job? I know I have, albeit when I was younger...

Regardless, I'm with Derk Aiser on this one, I do not see a MATERIAL BREACH of a 5-year contract and this isn't a regular job, the fact that it's CONTRACTUAL WORK alone should be enough for anyone to realize this isn't a matter of firing a guy for a no call/no show.

- BeadyEyedDouche

It begins and ends with Berglund/his agent not getting his updated NTC into his employer on time. If he gets that done, none of this happens.

He brought this on himself, plain and simple.

In this case, Berglund can't be considered a worker. A worker, shows up to work. Even just walks through the door.

In just about ANY labor contract (or at will employer) walking off the job is defined as quitting.

Putting him in breach. Often, circumstances, at that point don't matter.

Especially if it were a failure on the part of the player to do something to prevent the situation.

Sure the Blues could help, but, why should they? They already gave him a limited no trade clause. They have to manage HIS responsibility too?

I understand it stinks, but I think the Sabres are showing a GREAT deal of patience given they could just cut him. This IS working with the employee trying to find the best situation.

Also to be considered, look at how the organization dealt with Lehner last year and his issues. Given past history, even according to the employee in a self-written article, I tend to side with them.

Side Note beady: If you haven't read that article it's worth the read. Lehner talks directly about his demons and how the organization helped. It was pretty cool.

Of course he does, and will for anyone.

No one has said he’s a complete bust of a player.

People have said he’s a complete bust of a 2nd overall pick when not playing with Jack Eichel, which for the most part has been pretty true.

Honest question, Sabres don’t finish last in ‘15 and end up with Dylan Strome.

What kind of production does Sam have the last 4 years?
