IMO the only way Chicago can move Keith and Seabrook is they have to package them up with either a Kane, Crawford, debrincant.

What team has 20 million in cap space as well as the assets to do that.😂😂😂😂

Exactly. Keith brings so much to the table and several competitive teams need that last defensive piece (Toronto, Edmonton, etc).

If Vermette (a 3rd line center) can fetch a prospect and a 1st at the TDL. I'm sure Keith can fetch far more.

EXPIRING CONTRACTS ARE NOT THE SAME AS LONG TERM DEALS AND THAT IS AN INCOMPARABLE SCENARIO.

Come to your senses Enzo. If you or I had that contract we aren't retiring out of pride and neither wil Seabs. He will play goalie in rubber boots if that's whats necessary to keep them pay cheques coming.

I think the dollars go down in the next few years not sure about that though.

The only problem with that is finding contenders that can afford to carry his $5.5ml cap hit for the next four seasons.
- walleyeb1

The problems in dealing Keith are:

1. No serious contenders have the cap space/willingness to trade value for value
2. If he is playing poorly because he wants to win, who would he waive for?
3. See #1
4. If this is in fact his attitude, no one may want him.

On Q.....

I think he may be negotiating with Seattle as a possibility as well. More opportunity with a clean slate to have a hand in building the roster, and maybe even a better chance to lose someone from our roster via NMC waiver to play with Q and not have cap implications to be concerned with.

Just a thought.

On Crawford.....

Poke check defense, complete absence of physical play, and lack of willingness to stand up for your teammates INVITED this situation. Teams have nothing to fear by running any of the Hawks.

Jesus Christ, if NOT ONE GUY could stand up for the one guy who has stood up for this sorry excuse for a team every night he was out there, what message does that send to the rest of the league, let alone your own teammates??

CC should just LTIR it through the balance of his contract and retire a Hall of Famer to his significant other and their child and call it a career.

Wonder how any subsequent goalie feels now about the lack of response from their teammates going forward.....

Sorry for the rant. VERY ticked off right now.

I will repeat....IF Duncan Keith doesn't get walked like a cone at center ice, Corey Crawford is still playing hockey tomorrow. Keith does a pinch as last man back at the Red Line, gets neither the man nor the puck...and the rest is history. I'd trade Keith tomorrow, if possible. His play is falling off a cliff, his attitude/work ethic is definitely questionable, and he would get the Hawks some major assets for the rebuild.

EDIT: Seabrook should retire out of pride. His play is an embarrassment and taints his great legacy as an elite 200ft Dman. He simply cannot keep up with the NHL pace anymore. To think he is signed through 2024....insane! That deal alone should cost StanBo his job, yesterday!

Agreed man, BUT the Hawks will NEVER win with Seabrook on the ice. he is too much a of a liability, even against 4th lines as was the case last night.

Yes - if you are going to spend north of $6MM per year for a D man, Parayko looks far better than Seabrook ever will going forward.

Trouble is, I am pretty certain there are no takers without such a sweetening of the deal that the move would be a net loss for the Hawks.

Since the season began you've traded a new player almost every week, Toews, Saad, AA, Keith, Seabrook .... Can you image what you'd say about Bowman if he were to do as you suggest?

Keith sucks

Anyone offering more than a 2nd round pick for him hasn’t watched him play these past few years. The guy is almost as bad as Seabrook.

Knowing that Seattle WILL get a shot at the SC, Q would be a fool to pass up that gig. Why the hell would he want to go to Phi?

Last season all the stars aligned for Vegas' Cinderella season, it's very unlikey Seattle will follow that path.

Main thing, is they don't win meaningless games from here on in. Lose for Hughes. Getting Hughes....and the 2-3 good young D-men all growing together means this re-tool may only be this year and next year. After that....we could be moving back into the Cup-contention talk.

Move any of the aging roster that you can turn into a pick or prospects and I am thinking this ship can be righted again in 2 years.

Winning meaningless games at this point to move us from 31st to 27 or 26th is just stupid. If we are gonna suck...do it right....31 overall!!!!!!

EVERY team has a "shot" at the SC. What is your contention? They will be "guaranteed" to be in the finals?

Whoever was on the blue line(Who (frank)ing refused to play the body) , was that Keith? Caused that whole (frank)ing play to happen.

Being physical matters in hockey , no matter how many times you guys say the game has changed blah blah blah blah, the whole damn league is comfortable running into Crawford, taking liberties at will. (frank)ing Keith , only gets a little physical when his feeling are hurt. Cant wait for them to trade Keith.

Its pathetic when DeBrincat is the toughest hockey player on the team.

- mrpaulish

Yeah that’s Keith!
