Are you saying trading Panarin was part of a PLAN to suck and get a higher draft pick?
You're not serious are you? - hereismike1
Where did you get that? I was responding to taylorst1 statement: " so Stan made a trade without realizing how much value he had in panarin. " |

Got it....my mistake.
Yes we would not be a playoff team with him, but we surely got the short end of the stick in that deal. |

When he played here he was above a NHL caliber goalie
check the water in Carolina maybe - gazza53
Hasn't hurt McElhinney, and Petr Mrazek seems to be getting his game back together.
Darling has not posted consecutive wins since coming to Raleigh.
Think about that. 51 games and not once winning two games in a row. It's mind boggling. |

Real simple, is Panarin worth 10 victories this season? Makes a real bad team only bad and a horrible mid-pack draft pick... - riozzo
I think any GM who has experience would know that a 28 , 29 year old Kane and toews locked up for 8 years on 10.5 million dollars , would find a way to have rebuild this team since their last cup to contend and compete.
If your going to pay those guys all that money while their still young and your answer is to tank then you should not be near any NHL team because your wasting , money and talent and the opportunity that seldmomly comes along, |

Kane has the third highest ppg number of his career this year. Pretty sure he's not a problem or having a down season or wherever.
The bottom six are bad. Kruger, Martinsen and Hayden may be the worst 4th line in the league. But they try really hard so apparently that counts for something.
Their defensive group is bad aside from Murphy and Jokiharju which is just embarrassing for the front office.
They don't really need to clear salary right now and Seabrook moving seems kind of difficult and i don't think the front office has it in them to make that lopsided of a deal. Same for Keith. Realistic return is minimal at this point.
Trade someone cause they ask or because they're a problem in the room. Any other reason at this point doesn't make them better or get significant pieces to rebuild. |

The hawks had a great team the year after 2015 and motivation or lack thereof was their downfall to st louis. That was a series they should have won .
They had pieces in place they just lacked motivation accountability, and a few moves to tweak things. |

If Keith goes to Philly, he ain't winning a cup anytime soon. What a sad display when nobody did a thing after CC got run, nothing..only your most consistent player for the last however many years, and this team didn't even flinch to react, that's what kind of team this is. |

Relatable news to this blog... Carter Hart has been recalled by PHI. - Justin Lowe
This is fantastic news. What better way then to ruin a young goalie but throw him in with this dumpster fire. Brilliant |

Hextall was against bringing him up but I guess Fletcher thinks he's ready.
They can't mess this prospect up, so they better hope he doesn't get too beat up in there. |

That's so very true , but it goes back to the construction and lack of talent and leadership on this team.
I'd say it looks like the core has checked out and is going through the motions. |

I just said it was relatable to this blog as I mentioned Hart.
His recall seems to be a last resort as almost all of PHI's goalies are injured.
Crawford to PHI to be a 2-year stopgap before this Hart kid is thrown to the wolves could have made some sense though. |

Kruger was done last year. He's a good guy and he tries hard, but for the amount of money he makes he's not worth the roster spot.
I trade him for Martinook 100 times out of 100 if presented with the opportunity again. |

On Hart? He's the best goaltending prospect we've seen in almost a decade. Kid is extremely good. |

lmao. Timmonen fetched 2 second rounders with nothing left in the tank. Keith, who has declined, still offers a lot more. - Bjm84
I'm going to guess that you haven't forgotten(or maybe you have) WHO IT WAS that gave up two 2nd rounders for a NOTHING left in the tank Timmonen |

What bingo said.
He reminds me so much of Carey Price's style. Very effective in his movements. Almost looks effortless at times due to his amazing technical skills. |

Toews is playing the best hockey hes played in 3 years and Kane has the third best ppg rate.
The front office is more to blame then the guys on the ice. Not the players fault they're old or not good and someone thew money at them.

Slim. He's had some difficulty at the AHL level. But you never know with these things.
If I were the Flyers I wouldn't be calling him up yet. |

So what is the deal with Ejdsell? His 4 goals in 24 games seems like a real big let down so far. He can really shoot the puck. Is he not getting into those soft areas to shoot? I was really hoping for more from him and Nilsson in the AHL this season. |

Watching him here against the Broncos in the WHL finals last year was a treat. Dude is incredibly calm and patient. You won't see him sliding out of position at any point. Really hard to beat him clean at that level, anyway. |
