I am still blown away at the lack of any kind of response after CC got bulldozed. I watched the replay. 100% intentional. I don't get it. Is the locker room that bad that nobody sticks up for a teammate? Geezus.
- z1990z

I'd say what your seeing is yes, the exact result of that. We lack cohesion, unity, drive, purpose, and togetherness. It's everyone for himself. Why would the core want to stay here at this point? I won't blame any of them if they want to get traded, and I won't hold it against any of them if they want to stay. They have earned that right.

While we don't know the severity, I'm wondering if we maybe saw Crawford's last game.

It would be a sad end to a solid career.

Hope he can bounce back.

- Hank3Henshaw

It could be. A real unknown will be what the impact is today, tomorrow or next week. I really hope he is okay. Crawford is a good guy.

Will be interesting to see how it plays out and if he is willing to keep playing for a rebuilding team, given his history, or if he will just call it a career.

Crawford will not leave $6M on the table. He will likely be Hossa'd through next year.

Yep the HAWKS need some push back badly ,it been coached out of most of them .Have noticed a little more lately ,did not see last night incident but it sounds pretty bad .
Ihe HAWKS should look at Seebs to EDM for Lucic I think Lucic contract ends a year earlier .EDM will be looking for D with Klefbomb and Russell sidelined . Lucic can still fight and will .Keith will or should get a 1st and prospect.
Tough break for Crow hope he is Alright .

THey were all intricate parts, but when we look at the Hawks fan base, they are constantly reminded of Kane's playoff moments and it's a bit more tangible. The true hockey people on this blog and throughout the fan base know the importance of all the guys named and know it wasnt just Kane.

My point is, I dont think we can combat the trading of Artemi Panarin and what that meant to Kane's career trajectory by saying we gave you 3 cups and 10.5 a year, deal with it. He has constantly been thrown table scraps to make work year after year.

- nickmo2699

Had the Hawks kept Panarin it would have crippled the team due to the cap but may have helped Kane's career numbers. What is more important to you Kane's numbers or the team's success?

Ruuta's deal is done at the end of the current campaign. Darling would be too expensive for the extra 2 years on his contract if his deteriorated play continues. Let Carolina buy him out and then sign him for buryable dollars.
Hard pass on this deal for future Cap reasons.

Would it though? As far as the cap goes. The cap keeps climbing. Panarin is making the same money as Saad right now and we are talking about bringing him back anyway. I want the team to do well over Kane's career numbers. But they were a playoff team when Kane was producing on the level he was. So I do think there is a correlation. And to be honest, I dont think Toews needed Saad to have a rebound year, I think it was on his work in the off season and his now training with Adam Oates.

If I'm not mistakin only 4 entities liked Seabs contract
in order
1. Seabs and family
2. Seabs agent
3. Stan
4. mcd

most everyone else I know said it was a mistake day number uno

- gazza53

Yeah, it was a bad deal. At the time, with what D were getting, he probably would have got his $7mil, but only for a 2 or 3 year deal. $ +term is what made this such an awful deal.

I think most saw his skills declining over the years, I don't think anyone anticipated just how quickly and far they have fallen.

I don't mind the money for Seabs, I truly dont, it's the term. I hated that extension the moment it broke. I wonder if Bowman would have looked at the cap, and Seabs' declining play, as he was extended before his contract was even up, and reconsidered. Maybe that aav for 4-5 years or on a year-to-year basis like Jumbo Joe is doing with SJ.

Paul said it best, without the 5 guys, we don't win any cups. Kane's nickname is Showtime, yeah, he's a fun guy to watch come that time. I still get chills when gets the three lines shaved in his playoff haircut. I knew he meant business. Toews gave everything and double for 2015. Hossa has left the biggest of all-time holes on this team. Who's going to fill those skates? Ever again for any team? Kessler talked about our Top 4 d men: Keith, Seabs, Hammer, and Oduya (who were worked like dogs and answered the bell every time.) Kessler said, "If that's your top 4, then your going to win every time. It's unfair to play against." Crow deserved mvp one of those cup years. Hell, we could have three-peated! Totally, Kane is the best player, but if you're missing just 1 player, I don't think any cups come into Chicago.

If we saw Crow play his last game, I will be happy, because his health and being there for his family is more important. Sure, I'll be upset, but he's in charge right now when he recovers. I'm fine if he wants to come back, or of he wants to take it easy.

Arizona might want 6 mil on their books for LTIR......

Yeah, that term is the killer. Seabs is a legend for how he played for many years, but I thought the time to move him was before he became UFA. The issue I think is the Hawks thought they could stay in win now mode for longer. That season, they still had a pretty good shot to make a run.

Lucic will Only be about 34 or 35 when his contract is up, the question is who plays defense for us now? I understand and Seabrookes age and everything that comes with it, but the Hawks defense is soft as Puppy pooptt right now ,Very upsetting that no one took issue with EVander Kane, that was totally a purpose play. But then again Stan Bowman constructed of this crap over the last two seasons.
All those that were against Trying to trade up and drafting Brady TKACHUK,Last time I looked he may be the rookie of the year or close to it, instead we draft 2 ,5”8 midgets .
I know there are those that would say well none of us were in the room how do we know that they did not try to, I’d be willing to bet Stan’s people wanted him to but once again he turned his ass up at them, he Will fight with his scouts and his own management staff when they had brought up the fact about needing more size and push, his reply was “all I want are fast skaters “I know there are those that would say well none of us were in the room how do we know that they did not try to, well I could agree to an extent , but you still need a good mix, and the two big guys we have that should have had some type of response even if it meant challenging Kane,At the drop of a puck on a face-off to which some called a stage flight to send a message, Hayden and Martinson put their tail between their legs and would have none of the sort, those two guys are useless. So old duff man if you can pull it off, I’ll take Milan Lucic For Seabrook if you have a plan in place to replace him.

Great thoughts here man. I'm just gonna add that you are really on to something when talking about Hossa. While everyone thinks highly of him, I'm not sure we still give him enough credit for what he did for the team on a nightly basis. I can't think of a better 2 way winger. His game did decline, but once he hung them up, it was a huge loss.

Trading Panarin has saved the Hawks zero dollars on the salary cap to date.

Both he and Saad have had $6 million cap hits the past two seasons.

We did give up a bunch of goals and assists in the process though.

Saad makes $6 million the next two season as well. The way the team is going, is saving about $3million in cap hits for the next two season going to make any difference or help anything?

That was one of the dumber trades Stan has ever made, and he has made a few. (see Danault, etc._)

I'm not sure how you could square that keeping panarin who received a 2 year contracts for 6 million would have hurt this teams future cap situation? Panarin is a better player hands down over saad, I'd say losing panarin was one of the reasons chic ago struggled last year.

Also Chicago has the cap space to sign panarin come July 1st, so Stan made a trade without realizing how much value he had in panarin.

PANARIN is the type of player all teams want and will make every effort to keep.

Real simple, is Panarin worth 10 victories this season? Makes a real bad team only bad and a horrible mid-pack draft pick...

The Panarin trade was poor, but Panarin doesn't make this team a playoff contender. This team is several pieces away.

People need to stop female dogging about it and move on...

Those are all great comments id add hossa brought leadership to this young club and he helped elevate toews game as well as the young kids at the time.
