Dio ... seen him 3 times... saw the Holy Diver tour at the Aragon Ballroom - got 2nd row... - steve-hist-sdc
Big powerful voice for a tiny guy. Saw him in Rainbow twice, one in Sabbath and as a solo act. One of my favorite vocalists. |

Well, he uses a capital D, which, in my childish understanding, is a big letter. Haha. I'm not going to see him. - I Am The Breadman
Keep calling him Big D, I'm sure it makes him feel ..... ahhhh Big! |

He's one of the best on here ... but don't tell him I told you or he'll never fit his head through his front door. |

Sure, Paul, it's our little secret. Haha.
Agree with you on Dio being one of the best vocalists. He's one of my favorites. |

He's one of my favorites!!!! Rip. I would have loved to have been alive for Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow. - I Am The Breadman
My 1st concert. 06/25/76 at the Aragon.
Line up was: L.A. Jets, Heart, Mahogany Rush, Blackmore's Rainbow. I was always a Blackmore fan but, over the years have found out that he's an egotistical S.O.B. that now is touring renaissance fairs in Europe with his wife. All his ex-bandmates throughout the years hate him. |

Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush, I completely forgot about that band. I'd heard that Blackmore wasn't the most well liked person too. I remember going to an outdoor rock festival near Rochester NY in the early 80s, Mahogany Rush was there, along with Accept, Rainbow, Deep Purple, Scorpions, Priest and one of my all time fav bands UFO. |

Awesome on the concert, and it being your first one. Mine was Rush Vapor Trails at Tweeter Center.
He writes one kick-ass guitar lick in Smoke on the Water (one of the greatest) and suddenly he's God. He struck me as that kind of ass. I knew he did shows with wife. |

Strangers in the Night is the greatest live album by any band. |

I saw Rush probably 15 times over the years. Saw them at Massey Hall for two shows in '76 or '77 where they played three shows in 4 nights to record their live album All The World's a Stage. Last saw them at the Air Canada Centre for the Clockwork Angels tour. |

Ahhh - remember the good old days?
When our posting privileges were suspended for continuous non-hockey talk?
Or for gratuitous personal attacks on our fellow contributors?
And whatever happened to Barney - uhhh, Eli?
Ahhh - the good old days
Memories - light the corners of my mind
Misty water colored memories
Of the way we were.... |

That's awesome. I saw Clockwork at what used to be called Tweeter, don't know what it was called at the time. Carcillo brought out the Stanley Cup on stage.
My dad saw them from Grace under Pressure all the way to Clockwork. He didn't get to go to their final show at the UC. I felt bad because that is one of his favorites. Right next to the Stones. |

Apparently they are the nicest most down to earth guys unlike some other Rockstars who take themselves a tad too seriously. |

Did not see the game. Was there any response to the Hartman elbow that took Kruger out of the game? (Signs point to NO!) |

Yeah, I agree, it's just that Peart is shy, and fans take that the wrong way. |

No, there wasn't. Kane stuck up for Ward after hacking and whacking. Baby steps. |

I'd go along with that. Saw them in 1995 on their "reunion" tour w/Schenker at the Vic and that was pretty close... |

Love to see Kaner show that fire. The kid has grown so much from a leadership standpoint. Also, Saad looked like 2015 Saad last night and it was great to see. |

That's cool! I think within a year or 2 ago, all the guys did Strangers in the Night somewhere. I missed out on a lot of great bands in their prime. |

I saw Rush and UFO together at Maple Leaf Gardens, I'm think in '84 or '85? Man our generation had some amazing music. |

Oh yes. I saw them at one of those Super Bowl of Rock shows at Soldier Field (to keep it hockey related) where the 2014 Winter Classic was played between the Pens and Hawks.
Rumour has it there is a UFO tribute band that plays somewhere out in the west burbs. |
