ROAR, you are not allowed to kipe Blowman's chips.
He is saving 1/2 for the trade deadline and the other 1/2 a bag for the draft. |

Bread,
A few years ago (IIRC), Blowman was "caught" napping at the draft table, eating a bag of said chips while Nero fiddled, Rome burned and he turned down an allegedly great offer for Sharp before giving him away to Dallas along with Stephen Johns.
However, I may be mis-remembering the whole event. |

Didn’t mean to rile up the board on a second for Keith
Other than Hossa my all time Hawk favorite- & I hope I’m wrong -
It’s a lot younger league than 5 years ago so we will see what teams like Toronto think he’s worth
One thing for sure - the window for moving Keith is closing and if I’m wrong bring on the haul because Keith is getting old and slow.
As for no Hawk running EKane - disgraceful & cowardly-

Thanks for the update, pd. We have different definitions of golden ticket. He doesn't want this crap. - I Am The Breadman
I think it is a reward for how well he has played. Doesn't he make 10 time more $$$ while he is on the NHL roster? I'd think he appreciates the shot to play in the NHL and probably is looking forward to some more $$$. |

I'm sure someone will come up with that image again, I might look for it later. Anyway, it was something like that. Draft day and all Blowman could do was sit around eating chips.

Not surprised Delia got the call over Forsberg. He's able to be sent down without having to be waived like Forsberg would have to be. Plus, he's played very well for a sub-par Rockford team who's giving up almost 40 SOG a night so he should fit right in here at Chicago
Lets see what the kid can do and if he can take the next step to be an actual NHL goalie whether that be as a backup, starter, or a fringe starter at least. |

So if someone seems to be slurring his speech I need to be a Neurologist to notice? So if a goalie seems to react slowly to shooters moving fast, leaving his net totally open, I need to be a Neurologist to notice? So if a goalie seems to react better to more stationary shooters, where he can play on plane, squaring up, I need to be a Neurologist to notice? Please.
Crawford was struggling statistically and by eye-test, no matter how you cut it. He was not himself. So he was either still symptomatic in certain areas or he sucked - your choice.
You better read some of the stories told by ex-players and players concerning how concussions are treated - the pressure a player feels. There have actually been players who passed protocol who clearly should not have, continuing to play, then being removed from the line-up later. I thought it strange that Crawford went from having setback after setback after setback to suddenly being ready to play overnight. - Z3Hawk
You can suggest anything you want, and you can re-tell all the accounts of athletes in the past gaming the system to return and play before they should have. That's not what we are talking about here.
You have Crawford who was out for 10+ months and under his own care, was either convinced by Hawk doctors to come back before he was ready, OR, had his doctors convince the Hawks that he was ready to come back even though he wasn't. Exactly what would be his incentive? Because he was champing at the bit to get into the nightmare he had faced the year before, only worse?
Crawfords play this year was a combination beginning with some rust from a lengthy layoff, followed by inconsistent play and poor play in front of him making him look even worse. EVERY Goalie goes thru periods in the season where they will let in softies, loose their angles, over play and loose their nets, etc. It doesn't mean they are concussed or not fully recovered. Name me pretty much any goalie in the league and I will show you streaks where they have not played great. On a team like the Hawks where the Goalies lack support, its magnified.
In terms of speech patterns, he has always been halting. In fact if you listen to most of the veterans this year, they are hesitant with answers when interviewed. They have been winners for most of their careers, this consistent losing is wearing on them, they are trying to give PC answers as opposed to just reactions, and it shows in the time they are taking to think thru answers.
It's funny, your expert eye says he is still concussed, but all the coaches, trainers, md's, agents, friends and family that watch him play and practice regularly have said nothing and have let him play the majority of the games lately anyway. SMH

I get that side of it, BB, (I didn't know about the 2 way contract) but I'm more of a Gestalt processer, he's in for one hell of a recall. |

I remember that happening cuz he thought he could hold out to get a better deal and then realized no one wanted to "help" the Hawks by taking his contract. Wonder if any info ever came out about the team or the deal that was offered. I'd be VERY curious to see how that deal could have helped the team out instead of giving Sharp and Johns away for damn near nothing |

Sanheim + would be a hard no go for a 35 year old with 4 years left on his deal. Hes still a good player and intangibles are valuable but hes trending to a 2nd pairing guy rather than the Norris level defenseman he once was. - Tfaehner
Depends on how desperate phily management is to make the playoffs? |

The Sharp deal was a disaster, whether you want to argue the mis-use of Daley was Q's fault or not. That being said, there has never been any proof to the claims that he turned down better deals. Like much of the pablum that floats around here, it may have been nothing other than blog experts and supposed insiders who know no more than me or you. I would assume that if some actual deal that was missed was ever learned of, you would have heard it on here a long, long time ago. |

Maybe management took a vacation day or a personal day...if they have any left !! - Hawkytalk
Thought they were on permanent vacation and leave of absence. And probably so the way this team has been run the past 3 years no personnel or trade decisions until bowman is fired. Until bowman mcd and macissic are gone this team will not see another playoff round or stanely cup. Bowman cannot simply put together a contending team imo. |

Yes but remember John McD's comment recently that Stan Bowman has done an "excellent job" for the organization.
That should tell us all why this team is a train wreck right now.
I am legitimatly afraid of what he might still do while in the GM chair that could worsen the current predicament he's put the team in.

As much as many of us would like to see it happen, I don't think Rocky will launch the guy who has quintupled the value of his franchise in 10 years. He may do it eventually, especially if and when McD replaces Bowman and the dysfunction continues. McD going is unfortunately probably the long game. |

The factoid that is actually amazing this year about Kane is he has his numbers without feeding on the PP at all. The Hawks’ PP is so freakin’ bad it gives a fan a headache. What do the Ghoul Granato and Scotty Smith bring to the table - NOTHING. - Z3Hawk
What, you want them to bring in new assistant coaches to improve things and start winning and screw up our draft plans. |

Well said.....and I totally agree with Enzo as well. Duncan "No Compete" Keith needs to be moved for the best offer out there. He can still be a top dman when he wants to be and that's been my gripe about him for years. How can he win the Norris one year and then not be mentioned as a top 10 dman in the league the next ??? And NO to those saying he was been injured.
He should return a top prospect and picks at the very least. He now has become the only player on this team that can bring valuable future assets. Now NO on Crawford due to injury and NOBODY wants Toews or Seabrook.
This situation gets worse by the day. Very Sad times for sure. - Hawkytalk Totally agree gawky, if he is not moved this year what a waste. I agree to with teams at top of cap with so many great young players, swabs and toews have no market value, long term contracts kill that. I feel with our crappy PP some onus on that has to go to out. 10.5. million boys. other teams with lesser stars make their PP sing , and not into that elite 10. Mil club. we are not getting value for money Re. Ovie, Crosby, malkin. Bowman have made some bad trades of late but loyality and too rich contracts have screwed us.
