EVERY team has a "shot" at the SC. What is your contention? They will be "guaranteed" to be in the finals? - Chunk

The only problem with that is finding contenders that can afford to carry his $5.5ml cap hit for the next four seasons. - walleyeb1
I'm sure we can retain ~1 million. A 4 million Keith seems very reasonable. |

Chuck Fletcher says he expects Scott Gordon will be #Flyers coach for the remainder of the year. He says he hasn't asked for permission from Chicago to speak to Quenneville and hasn't spoken to him in two years.

This isn't directed at you, because I appreciate the update, but maybe remainder of the year could be taken as 2018. Turn the page on a calendar year and bring Q in. |

Issue is not that as much as the last two parts. They haven't even talked to Q yet.

What team has 20 million in cap space as well as the assets to do that.😂😂😂😂 - Abadseed
Well everyone speculation is Keith and Crawford are going to Philly that's almost 12 million in salary? So it's not a unrealistic stretch or theory.

Because if they didn't have the Blackhawks approval, wouldn't that have been tampering? Seems like a coverup! I agree with others that it will be a January 2019 move.

Yes it would be.
There are so many reasons why Q shouldn't/likely wouldn't go to PHI. Mainly that they are a crapstorm as well, without a decent goalie to boot.
I see Q at this stage in his career preferring the chance to build a team instead of rebuild one as his legacy act. |

It's a real shame about Crawford. I hope he either takes as long as he absolutely needs before even considering coming back, or hangs them up. His health is more important than hockey.
Do the Hawks LTIR him next year or try to get another team to eat his salary and then LTIR him on Day 2 of the season? This could free up $6 Million next year. The NHL's LTIR setup really hamstrings teams who have big time injuries to large cap players. They can't make any moves until the second day of the season for LTIR. |

Not really a big deal for the Hawks for next season. They will have ~17M in cap space going into next season and any RFA they have shouldn't make more than what they make currently. Or they get a very modest increase.
This team should NOT be signing any name FAs at all. The last thing you want is a poopty team and cap troubles. |

Doesn't matter. They won't win a Cup with Q as coach. Pretty sure no HC ever won Cups with 2 organizations. |

The problems in dealing Keith are:
1. No serious contenders have the cap space/willingness to trade value for value
2. If he is playing poorly because he wants to win, who would he waive for?
3. See #1
4. If this is in fact his attitude, no one may want him.
On Q.....
I think he may be negotiating with Seattle as a possibility as well. More opportunity with a clean slate to have a hand in building the roster, and maybe even a better chance to lose someone from our roster via NMC waiver to play with Q and not have cap implications to be concerned with.
Just a thought.
On Crawford.....
Poke check defense, complete absence of physical play, and lack of willingness to stand up for your teammates INVITED this situation. Teams have nothing to fear by running any of the Hawks.
Jesus Christ, if NOT ONE GUY could stand up for the one guy who has stood up for this sorry excuse for a team every night he was out there, what message does that send to the rest of the league, let alone your own teammates??
CC should just LTIR it through the balance of his contract and retire a Hall of Famer to his significant other and their child and call it a career.
Wonder how any subsequent goalie feels now about the lack of response from their teammates going forward.....
Sorry for the rant. VERY ticked off right now. - Return of the Roar
While I think you may be right, it has very little to do with the current Hawks or any roster moves they are going to make in the next 2 years.
Expansion draft for Seattle is still 2.5 years away.
