Former #Isles bench boss Scott Gordon is an NHL head coach again. Taking over for Dave Hakstol in Philly.

Agreed- Gorton F'd that up. Still think its the right move for this team. Money is not an issue while we suck and we have so much money coming off the books in two years time.

I'm not going to be against acquiring draft picks just because this organization has messed them up in the past

but, once January 1st hits, I think it'll become clearer what this team intends to do with Kevin Hayes, if signing an extension is indeed in the cards, it will happen quick

The Rangers probably would be Buffalo 2.0. But they also could be LA, Pittsburh or Chicago. I'm willing to live with that. The Jets/Atlanta were god awful too. Then they got Trouba, Morrissey, Scheifele, Laine, Helleybuck and Ehlers. I'd take that too.

We disagree. I think with Kravtsov, Miller, and a bunch of the other guys we picked up, you have to start looking at some players you should keep around. Still going to get a good pick and more through other trades. Hayes is a guy you keep if he is asking for a reasonable contract.

Speaking of this. Pretty insane what Ovie is doing right now in his 14th season

I will gladly take him here if he hits FA and the team is competitive.

If they trade him for a 1st rounder to a contender it is a late round pick at best. I am not saying that is bad but they are trading a known commodity that is trending up for something that is completely unknown. Yeah, they could get the next Tarasenko out of the deal but they could also get the next McIlrath.

You would think he retires unless a team that is ready to win gives him a one year deal

Yeah probably. Allaire is getting old though, I wonder how much longer he will be around.
Can't believe he has been with the Rangers for 15 years.

My fiance got us tickets to a Q&A/photo op with him this past weekend (in Freehold NJ for some reason). Someone straight up asked him which of winning a cup with a contender or being a career Ranger was more important to him. I expected him to give a non-answer like "It's something we have to consider down the road and I love it hear blah blah" but he actually, after a long pause, said remaining a Ranger was most important. Take that with a grain of salt because what else is he supposed to say.

Side note, I think my fiance might never wash the right side of her body again after getting up next to him for the photo. I cannot blame her. If i were to get cucked by one man in this world he is the one i'd be most ok with.
