He was our best player in preseason. He should have never been sent down.
- sabresfan69

He looked good with Asplund for sure.
Preseason is normally a joke...difficult to make valid evaluations.
Asplund is struggling on the scoresheet as well.
If he's so good, he should be pushing hard to be called back up.
While he is playing better than last 2 seasons, I would not say he's pushing gor a job.
I'm sure he will get a look-see eventually, then it will be up to him to force the brass to make a move...or not.

And? He has played Hockey his entire life.

This shouldn't be a conversation. If he's a top-10 pick, been playing his entire life, he should be a .ppg player in the AHL at 20.

He's about a .75 .ppg clip.

You think that is going to translate to the NHL? He's already in the last year of his ELC isn't he?

- BeadyEyedDouche

His contract is up in 2 years he was playing in the AHL when he should of been in the OHL

His game is more suited for the NHL and you will see that when he gets a call up soon

Sorry but that is nonsense. Show me an 18 year old who has dominiated in the AHL? Last year he was dealing with injuries and this year he is 20 points in 27 games which is where you would expect a 1st round 20 year old in the AHL.

He's had some very shaky games this year, let's just hope it's a sophomore slump.

if you're referring to pilut/olofsson, that's some major oversimplifying. He was the most sought after euro, and was touted as someone with legit top 4 upside

Olofsson the sniper has two more goals than nylander and one more primary point. He's also 3 years older.

My god you poeple need to look at things in perspective. Olofsson is 3 years older than Nylander. He has 1 more goal and 2 more points. Also stop equating draft ranking to point output.

Some people don't understand AHL game, NHL game, Age, and experience, playing against men vs teenagers They just see draft pick spot and points that is it.

What is nonsense is the never-ending excuses made for him.
He's not 18. He is 20-3/4...BIG difference.
With 2 years experience already, I would expect him to be at 1 PPG.

Look, here is the real issue for me...
He is a playmaking winger who plays a perimeter game. Fine.
Sabres don't need that...they need finishing scorers who go to the net and get ugly.

You like him, great.
Im looking wt production, not the promise off a scouting report 3 years ago.

No some, are tired of the lazy act. show some fire, go into the corner and win a puck battle, skate... he supposed to be fast... never see it... he’s a 1st round draft bust.

Regarding Patrik Berglund: He was partying with his Swedish friends for the last couple days while telling the #Sabres that he was sick with the flu. Finally the team had enough info and pulled the trigger to suspend him.

Right and he is 20 years old and has 20 points in 27 games.

Now before you post your next nonsense go look up how many points 1st round players have in the AHL at the age of 20. I am glad to wait for what you find.
