Yeah extending Bogo into his 30’s might be a mistake. Maybe
- sbroads24

Risky with his injury history

With RH defensemen always in demand,
wouldn’t hurt to at least listen to offers at some point

As much as I want reinhart to run a productive second line, I will be very happy if he is Eichels Kunitz

I wanna see Okposo get that opportunity
If for no other reason than to pad his stats & maybe find someone to take him off our hands

*When healthy* he’s one of those players who’s been over rated so long that he becomes under rated. He’s a fine 4/5 when healthy, but I can’t imagine any scenario he’s worth a 3-4 year deal into his 30’s
- sbroads24

Right. It's not like he's jumping at a 1 year extension at a lower salary. Entering his 30's, giving any significant term is a terrible risk. As well as he's played, it's clear he's already lost a step.

We have Bogo for 1.5 more years why worry about extending him? Wait at least another year and if he stays healthy give him 3 years or tell him bye.

No one is taking Okposo, well not without draft picks added in.

It’s a cycle a lot of top first round picks go through.

Underwhelm
Get bashed
Get traded
Get bashed
Settle into being a role player
Suddenly become likeable

No issues with his play this year, but he’s a role player at this juncture

Well if he plays with Jack,
that should up his stats
Then we (presumably) wouldn’t have to give up as good of a pick to get rid of him

I fear he’s starting to turn into Moulson on us,
and we need to do whatever we can to make him more desirable for another team to take on
*if possible, of course

Chiarelli... u listening? 😂

How many goals did Eichel have when the Loving Legend was on the top line, and how many assists did Boss’ pet have?

By contrast, how many assists has soft bum roadcone picked up with his roomie, and look how Jack took things to the next level.

But maybe it’s a new stick flex.

Wait so the 2nd overall pick produces more on the top line then a 35 year old Pominville ? I'll be damned.

We need a dynamic, game-changing winger for L2

Okposo is a checking-line forward now. Sheary is fine. But we need one more high-end winger for Mittelstadt

For all we know Pominville could have buried the chances CLANK didn't the past two games. If Sam can spark the 2nd line that helps us better long term.

Bet there were alot of nhl players with 900 plus games and 81 playoff games under their belts who were willing to waive their no trade clause to come to buffalo.

9 goals 9 assists

Pommer won us some games and banked us some points this year.

Sure he's slowed down without eichel, but hes a leader

Sam didn't pick himself 2nd.
His draft position has nothing to do with our expectations.
If he was picked in the 3rd round you would love him.
So what if our last 70 point player was pommer.

And pommers 36 years old not 35.
He wasn't the best Sabres captain ever.
Big deal that he has 18 points this season.
He hasn't had 1 pilon assist with eichel.

But seriously I agree with you

Sam has played really well for the most part.

But Jack makes Sam infinitely better. It isn’t the other way around

You dont like his center game? I think he's a natural center, bur I'd like him to have another gamer around him

Reinhart is our best RW but common Skinner's goals were both Eichel making an incredible no-look pass. As long as whoever plays on the right side can maintain possession and not turn the puck over they'll get points. If Reinhart performs at a 55 point pace on the 2nd line then that means Mitts and Sheary/Thompson get going and we are harder to defend. Leave Reinhart on PP1 and he'll still get his token assists.

Not right now, no. He just doesnt drive the play enough nor set up enough shots (teammates or his own).

But what little chances he creates for himself tend to be pretty good ones. This typically goes over well when that player is on the wing and the recipient of created plays.

Edit: I realize the pickings are extremely thin at centre, but that line has done virtually nothing offensively at even strength.
