Definitely the best of the new ones by far. Although I still haven't seen Solo yet. - hereticpride
Solo isn’t bad. I found they tried to put in too much humour.
I find that’s kind of a common theme for the new star wars movies.
The twist at the end was pretty cool. |

Honestly, it wasn’t this bad during the wasteland that was 1990-94. At least you knew after what they gave up for Lindros in 92, that the team was likely going to take a step back before moving forward.
This is just a dumpster inferno right now. Players have quit on the coach, and on their teammates. A new coaching staff is a must, but I really hope, and honestly expect, that a lot of these players are gone before the start of the next season.
This season has been an utter disgrace. My earliest memories of the Flyers go back to the team that missed the playoffs on a fluke goal during the last game of the season in 1972. Never, not then, not when they were embarrassed by Shero’s Rags in 79, the 3 straight 1st round debacles in the early 80s, the 5 straight years of missing the playoffs, the Lindros/Clarke mess, the 98-02 coaching carousel, the 06-07 horror show; never have I felt this disgusted with the Philadelphia Flyers.
For the first time in my life, I’m embarrassed to be a fan of this team. They are just breaking my heart. - BiggE
The Farwell/Dineen/Simpson years were the worst for me. It sucks right now, but this team is better than this and a turn around shouldn't take long. I think it's crazy some people are suggesting a tear down.
It is super frustrating right now for sure.

When’s Q getting here? - Just5
Maybe we put out the Festivus pole and Hakstol can keep his job if he can pin Quenneville and then Holmgren in a CONTEST FOR BEST OUT OF 3 FALLS.
I remember hearing things like that before WWF matches. |

If they started Lyon because they publicly stated that Stolarz had back spasms earlier in the day? Can’t speak for anyone else, but I would have agreed with that decision 100% - BiggE
What I found weird was that earlier in the day it was tweeted (don't recall who, Boruk maybe?) that Lyon was starting. Found it weird that just before game time it was changed to Stolarz.
I will say, if I was the coach and new my job was on the line, I would have started Stolarz. (assuming he wasn't having any medical issues, the only place I read about back spasms is here). |

I think you’re on to something here.
Since the team has to get better from within, Fletcher should bring in the festivus pole for the airing of grievances.
I’ve got a lot of problems with you people! Now you’re gonna hear about it. |

I'm not equating this to Berube v Mason, but Stolarz has played 9 games in a row.
Also, let's not forget this is still a business:

Goaltenders playing that amount of games in a row happens on a regular basis. Criticizing Hakstol for starting Stolarz is absurd.

If you didn't know about the back spasms and Hakstol had started Lyon and they lost. Pretty much a guarantee Hakstol would've gotten ripped for it. Zero objectivity.

Like I said Last night.
We aren't talking SEALs on a 50 mile hike before combat. Hell on recent projects I worked 14 hours straight.
Their is enough to complain about with Hak, Stolie playing in 9 games in a row isn't one of them for me. |

Q is what this organization deserves. I know a lot of folks are upset but take a breath. There is calm after the storm.

I'm gonna lol when it's Mike Yeo and we trade Provy, Frost and a pick for Doughty. |

The worst part for me is that this is now a dysfunctional organization with no solid plan which also appears to have its priorities out of whack. Although it was taking a while, most of the knowldegwable fans understood the plan and could see its merits.
To abruptly shift gears because it was taking too long and the arena wasn't full is frustrating as hell.

I think Hexy deserves a ton of credit for the prospect pool and cap scenario we have. Nothing should take away from that.
He could have done a much better job on goaltending and their isn't an industry anywhere where you should expect your paying customers to be content with having no chance to succeed for 5-6 years. |

Yup, while a rebuild isn’t linear, they were in last place when Hexy got fired, and are still there today. It doesn’t matter how well you draft or how well you manage the cap. When you’re in year five of your tenure as GM and the team’s in dead last, you shouldn’t be surprised when you lose your job. |

The best course of action would have been waiting for the off-season, imo. Could have cleaned house, GM, coaching staff all at once and started fresh.
Holmgren did the same thing to Lavi and we ended up with Berube as coach. |

I don't disagree with that but what also has to be considered is that 2-3 years of that was spent turning over the roster, drafting and getting the Cap in better shape. In reality it's only the last season and a half when more should be expected.

Ray Ferraro.
“What a tire fire. I thought after I watched #Flyers lose 6-0 in Toronto a couple weeks ago they would fire coach. Fired GM instead. Unless goalie shows up in Christmas stocking, looks like time is now for new GM to hire his own coach.” |

I'd argue that Berube was the biggest problem Hextall inherited. |
