Most likely , dumb decision on his part. If that's me and I did trust the source I'd still only run the story if the team put out the news first. Gotta think about your job security in a situation like that, what does breaking a head coach firing really do for you other than prove you had a source on the inside.

It's not a panic. Everyone in hockey is looking at the team with a focus on the Flyers doing something. Either make the move, or announce that he's your coach for the rest of the season. The players don't seem to want to play for him before this. It doesn't seem likely that they will for a lame duck coach. He's twisting in the wind.
