Dubas traded leivo. Glad leivo has a couple of goals, but hes easily replaceable. Nothing special. - Fakepartofme
Babcock was the reason he was traded. |

Posted this in Eks column a few minutes ago. Discuss....or disgust......flame suit on.
Keith and Seabrook to the Leafs, in return for Zeitsev and Leafs first. Half of Seabrook's salary retained by the Hawks.
Analysis: Leafs turn Keith and Seabrook into their second pairing and Gardiner moves up to play with Rielly on the first pairing. Hainsey is either traded or plays on the third pairing with Dermott. Gardiner leaves in free agency next year.
Hawks get a cost effective, younger right shot defender, a first rounder and Salary Cap relief. - PrinceLH
Can we please stop trading 1sts? I don't care if they're late 1st round picks -- the Leafs, as an organization, needs to stop trading them.
Keith and Seabrook? Hard pass. These guys have 4 and 5 years left on their contracts respectively with NMC/NTCs.
I'd rather wait a couple of seasons and try to sign Petro than bring that pair to TO. |

Good for Leivo for making good the opportunity that's been presented to him!
Looking forward to an inevitable hat trick by him against the Leafs. - mjones242
neither of those 2 goals he has scored for the Nucks reminded of Pavel Bure - both goals insanely dirty and lucky...! |

Babcock was the reason he was traded. - RogerRoeper
Leivo does not fit into Toronto's Top 9 and as a 4th liner he was never going to put up significant numbers playing 10+ mins a game with the likes of Goat and Ennis. If it was Babsocks who was instrumental in the decision for him to be traded it's because it was blatantly obvious Josh didn't fit in any significant way within the Leafs' current lineup.
Leivo is now playing on the Canucks 2nd line with super rookie Pettersson and Brock Boeser. It stands to reason he's going to score a few goals. Food for thought. |

Leivo's not even a plus possesion player in Van, not sure where we get this notion hes a possession beast....played limited mins vs the weakest comp in TO
I liked him too, but i dont think he'll be missed.
Leafs will be fine, just enjoy the ups and downs of the season.

And that's the extent of it. As I mentioned above, playing with Pettersson and Boeser sure helps. |

Wonder if that’s cause the team is ball sucky.. I hear he’s garbage now too tho - Puck-us-all
I think hes 1 of the reasons they suck, at least from the limited reading ive done in the Hawks thread. |

But the 4th line is struggling since he left.
And not fitting into Toronto's top 9 is crap. He's clearly better than guys in the top 9.
Remember when Kapanen was on the 4th line last season? |

Yeah good on Leivo. It's a sign of a good team where depth guys like him can't crack the lineup whereas a few years ago he'd be in the top six. Shows Vancouver's weakness right now.
It's like when that minor cult sprung up around Frankie Corrado, this magical thinking that Babcock was stubbornly overlooking a hidden gem...lol |

Yup.
Our 4th line was dominant in November with Leivo Gauthier and Ennis: the first two got on the forecheck added some size and Ennis was rewarded with some time and space to be creative.
Now our 4th line is getting caved in as teams on the road get the last change. |

1 game? I thought that stat was to be used over like 100-200 games....they played Philly and it might mean 1 shot attempt/period while playing with 2 of their best players.
I think Marleau was over 60% last night..... |

I agree the 4th has struggled a bit, didnt help with Hyman suspended and the Goat in there.
I havent really like Lindholms game that much lately. |

I'm so happy the contraversy is over which journeyman depth guys we cut loose because we have half a dozen all stars on the roster. |

We have guys on the Marlies we can fix the 4th line with if it becomes a total disaster.
I would hope. |

Lol this is all new uncharted territory for a Leaf fan. I'm still getting used to the idea that scoring goals helps us rather than ruins our lotto chances. |

Unless they hired Quenneville in his place.
