Stack the lines and you'd get better results.
In the playoffs last year, Boston's best players were playing 4+ minutes more thna the Leafs best. why the hell is our coach spotting the opposition that kind of advantage?

- RogerRoeper

Because it doesn't work. Boston's top line were knackered by the 2nd round. Got manhandled by the Lightning. They should've spread the talent around.
Philly and Florida stack their lines too. I'm not 100% sure they're gonna be great this year.

To be fair, wasn't Dustin Brown actually a half decent player back then?

Dwight King definitely wasn't

They've been poop now for a while. PDO/puck luck is settling down and teams are figuring us out, and taking away the rush chances by gapping up hard and clogging the neutral zone so the stretch pass won't work.

Not panicking, but maybe it's time to mix up the lines a bit.

- gravyface

It might be a good idea to change the strategies a bit. At the very least, have a few other plays they can do so they can change it up once in a while so we're not so predictable. That would be nice.

I think teams are really focusing on Marner now, especially in the power play. If they can just figure out how to exploit others being left open because of this, we should be good. Just gotta rework this a little.

They try really hard against the Leafs, though.

Probably. All the players are cranky and off their game cause their moms sent them to bed early last night instead of letting them go out drinking.

Or possibly they went out drinking with their moms and now their hungover.

One or the other.

Pens and Cap players were all getting much more TOI than the Leaf players did last Spring.
- RogerRoeper

Lol.

The Leafs had two PPs that they used the same amount of time.

The Pens and Caps stacked their PP...much like the Leafs have this season. And actually last years PP setup was better so far.

Anyways, Ovi,Backstom,Crosby all had around 15 mins of 5v5 time and same with Matthews and Marner.Malkin and Kessel
actually had 13 mins...2 less than Marner and Matthews.

So quit your whining.

It happens to every team.

I’m not going to worry about it. I’ll just watch.

You can worry if you want.

Yeah, they've figured out this PP big time.

I want Matthews and Nylander out again making those royal road passes with Nylander an actual shooting threat on the right side; let Marner and Tavares work over the 2nd PK units.

Oh I see now. Leafs are back in can't buy a goal mode... looks like those LA/STL games...

Jesus, do they think they are going to score off 6 tape to tape passes and bar-down into the empty net?
