Just finished watching the Building Brock series, which followed Elias on after hours, so nice too see our top 3 players, Bo Brock and Elias, are such grounded human beings.
The leadership on this team is in very good hands.

Up 2-0 already I see, keep pouring it on boys!! Love to see Petey with another five point game. Flyers need a coaching change, this will push things over the edge.

So what happened to that great job you always claimed Hextall did in Philly?

Sixth of the year for Granlund kills penalties. I think he is worth bringing back
- VANTEL

He plays a solid role for this team. I know he has his critics about goals scoring but he is a very good PK, slots in on a effective shut down line and comes up with timely goals at times. His offense would be better if they used him differently but that's not the best value out of this player.

Markstrom had a good night.

Canucks win, Leafs lose. All is well.

Might need to be bonked on the head and thrown in the cooler if he keeps flopping around.

He did do a great job, that’s hardly debateable? Everyone’s acknowledged that, Holmgren and the new GM included. He built one of the best prospect pools in the NHL through acquiring draft picks.

If I’ve said it once I’ve said it a thousand times, when I compared Benning vs Hextall it was how each guy utilized the draft for building a future. Which Hextall clearly did a better job at.

I've learned some not so great things about him since his dismissal though, apparently he was a major control-freak, he created a toxic work environment because of it and this was the major reason he was fired.

I don't find it surprising. He was an ego maniac as a player.

Read this...

"But that wasn’t the main reason.

Nope, the main reason was something you didn’t really hear at the press conference.

Hextall was fired because his relationships with a lot of people in the organization soured and he was difficult to work with. He was a micromanager of the highest order. He refused input from others – including his bosses."

Obviously I haven't watched them since Hitchcock took over but I'm reading they're playing a much more structured/boring game, and subsequently winning....a lot!

They packed it in after the 1st period last night. Glided to the finish, so they should be rested.

Low man was Leivo at 10:34. High man was Horvat at 17:29

I hope Gudbranson is back.

Sounds like the Comets will be without Zack MacEwen today. His hit on Tariq Hammond last game has resulted in a suspension. Looks like Dahlen could be out with a concussion after the hit from Tangradi as well. So Tangradi took out Sautner and Dahlen last week for extended periods
