What the hell do they do now? Captain Jack can't be happy with him, nor the entire lockerroom.

I wouldn't mind if they waived him and scratched him in the A

- jcragcrumple

If he's not willing to show up, you do what you can to terminate the contract. I'm not sure if sending him down would be worse or better to him. But this would be a nice way to eliminate that contact. Or trade it outright for a late pick, journeyman ahler or considerations

If he doesn't show up to the sabres he won't the A. He has been suspended so his salary does not count against the cap.

I would imagine the discussion with his agent and team management is going on over his contract.

He will probably be given a date to return or buffalo will try to terminate his contract.

So, no one will take his contract without pick for compensation.

The best thing that can happen is his contract gets terminated but Berglund probably will have a very good chance to report. Probably weeks before buffalo can terminate

I don't think he can play on Europe as long as he is under contract for Buffalo

I'll bet you a plate of wings that he doesn't. You could be right, but I won roulette last night. Two days in a row is a definite.

There's a chance if a team can see a better role for him than he has here. I'm sure we won't get much for him, but it could be an option.

Yeah, I'm saying waive him and don't play him in the A. At least they'd save a million bucks against the cap. Anyone know the specifics of mutually terminating contracts?

Not specifically, but the team can justify by either breaking their behavioral codes or simply not showing up.

A lot of the young Swedes followed his lead too. So from a leadership stand point it’s tough to see.

Wow. Really surprised about Bergy. Thought he would be decent with you guys. What the hell is going on. Always was kind of a lazy player. If he played with more heart it would show in the stats area. Show up for a week or two then disappear for a month or so. Had high hopes for him when he was drafted

we thought he'd be decent too and add a lot of leadership to a young team...perhaps he forgot that younger guys are hungry and that in Buffalo there are a number of players fighting for ice time or even an nhl job

Don't they have agreements that prevent this? Buffalo would have to terminate his contract firs,t right?

Kyle Okposo hasn’t scored a goal in 15 games, and is pointless in 7 straight.

How do we get rid of a 6 mil grinder?

Yeah, but that's not a long-term, or even medium-term, solution

There is only two outcomes.

-he reports
-his contract is terminated

No one wants Berglund's contract so he won't be traded. He won't be waived. He is suspended.

Yeah unfortunately not. Silver lining is he was on the best line last game. Hit a crossbar on a nice shot, but he has to produce.

the breakdown of the mid-six over the last 17 games is pretty troubling...only 11 goals scored--3 each by mitts and Thompson, 2 by Sobotka and one each by pommer, Okposo and sheary

I feel like Mitts and Thompson are close to breaking out. They will need to score tonight if Ihey want to beat Washington.

hope so...I get that feeling with mitts, not so much Thompson...mitts started this year focusing on the defensive side of the equation and is starting to feel real comfortable up and down the ice...and he's been centering a line that has been playing extremely well...Thompson has the skill, but imo he still has a way's to go
