Maybe pegula wrote him a check for the remainder of his contract to get him to not show up so we can terminate.

Let’s do the same with okposo and Scandella

@slumpbuster. No cash no cap hit while he’s suspended

Why do you think it is very temporary? Where are you getting that from? And what time length is very temporary to you?

This guy isn't going to leave that money on the table and when he shows up he is back on the books. That contract would be near impossible to trade given his age, salary and attitude.

Ostrander had on Twitter that any recapture penalty for Berglund would fall on the Blues.

Also, Hunwick recalled. Is he playing tonight?

You know he isn't going to leave money on the books how? How did you come to this information? Many athletes leave money on the table. Do you have inside information?

How do you know he doesn't want to return to Sweden? You also didn't let us know what is very temporary? A day? A week? A month?

CapFriendly has Hunwick going back on LTIR. Not sure if he was re-injured in Rochester or just decided he wasn't in shape to come back. Anyone else hear anything?

I must admit that I was taken back by the Berglund news.
I hope that he is alright.
He may be going through a rough time period in his life for reasons that none of us are privy.

I wish him well.

If anything, it's good to see that Hunwick is physically okay to play once again.👍

Burgland can take his game back to Sweden. Boo freaking hoo if you are a bottom 6 role player. Man up, play when you get a tap on your shoulder and collect your pay check!!!

Duncan Keith is available. Yes, he has five years left with a cap hit over 5 per. However, his actual salary over those remaining 5 years is only 14.25 Million...That works out to an average of 2.83 per year. An incredible deal for a team looking to add key experience to their defensive corps and he is a very tempting get....But he controls where he goes

Le’Veon gave up $14.5M guaranteed for a possible $60M guaranteed though.

why give up 14.5 when you can have 14.5M+60M. obviously he had a strong conviction Not to go back to Pittsburgh... no telling if Burgy feels the same way, but not showing up sure says he does.

putting Hunwick on the ice for his first game as a Sabre against Washington would be pretty sadistic.

Money is not the issue, the cap hit is. That would be a move for a budget team like Arizona or Ottawa.

If his failure to report amounts to a “material breach” of his contract then the Sabres have the right to terminate him today. There’s a good deal of mystery surrounding why he hasn’t played or practiced in the last week, but he is obligated to provide his “best services” to the team. The suspension is a chance for the team and the player to try to come to an agreement as to how to resolve this. Under the right circumstances, I could see the Club being able to terminate right now.

If we were fortunate enough to be able to terminate Bergulands contract, our next move should be to waive Sobodka. If he clears, he's probably going back to Europe.
That would be huge.
