And the easiest way to get that game changer is to draft them, but no one wants to do that.

Not even first pick necessarily but maybe have the best chance to get a good pick like BHawks and Toews in 06. Move guys for younger ones consistently, that is how you last and weed out lesser players.

We are not winning this year or next. Accept that and GM accordingly.

Even if you tank you're still going to have to move Simmonds, to a contender. And that's going to get you a prospect or a pick. A rental Isn't going to get you an immediate roster player of value.

Simmonds for a prospect that's knocking on the door but isn't quite there yet. That's the best case scenario for a "quick impact".

Even with the goalie carousel goaltending has been far from the main issue this year. Team defense and consistent effort remain the two things namely killing this team.
