I'm pretty sure that the 4th line looked better when it had Leivo on it. Losing Leivo rather than exposing Ennis was just plain dumb from a viewpoint of asset protection... and while Ennis might score the odd goal ... he really doesn't contribute much at all outside of the offensive zone. I think he got knocked off the puck several times last night when someone on the Tampa blue line sneezed.

There is no difference from Lievo and Ennis.

There is no point in wasting your time complaining about that. They chose the cheaper option and followed through with their promise of giving Lievo a better opportunity instead of up in the press box. People need to move on there.

Matthews didn't have much jump at all, but TB did a great job of shutting down his side on the PP

Marner is going to turn into a goal scorer if teams start to double team Matthews there

Marner was wide open in the slot...just have to go through video and show them how to counter that. The PP will be fine.

They got it to JT a few times, I wish he would have threw it back door instead of trying to score....AM was wide open a couple times....no biggie, Leafs will get it rolling if teams continue to double team AM.

Pierre LeBrun said that the Carolina Hurricanes had a trade fall through at the last minute with a Western Conference team. They are looking for a top-six forward, and it’s believed they’ve talked internally about Toronto Maple Leafs winger Kasperi Kapanen. Kapanen is a pending RFA, and the Hurricanes haven’t put forth a trade offer yet. The Hurricanes have defenseman that could interest the Maple Leafs.

McKenzie adds the Leafs don’t have anything imminent but they’ll be looking for help on the blueline. There is no guarantee the Blues would trade Alex Pietrangelo, but they would listen, and the Maple Leafs would be interested.

McKenzie continues that forwards Andreas Johnsson and Connor Brown are two others that the Maple Leafs could trade for a defenseman. Johnsson is arbitration eligible after this season and could be a reason why he’s moved over Kapanen.

Because I hate myself, I checked the conditions.

It actually looks perfect for the next few days.

Base of 176 cm is a little light, but it's going to puke snow Sunday to Thursday.

Dammit, now I'm really depressed.

Goaltending was incredible for Tampa last light. I'll be the first to admit I tuned out after the two goals against late in the second.

The Goat.. yeah, not all his fault, but he still stinks. Doesn't bring much. Doesn't take up much space for a big man either.

does anyone actually pay attention to Cox anymore? the original caustic cauldron of hate spew?

a very glaring example of unrequited love... loved the Leafs for years but they didn't turn into a good team... so he hated on them - like so many in the Toronto media.
