Surely, I don't disagree with your points.
I just see a guy like that and think he is a project; and mentally make a T-chart on what could make him the best he can be by improving his shortfalls...which in my mind is his skating...watch him next game...if it aint a straight line, he struggles badly ... which on a PK would hurt his efficiency and effectiveness...one has to be pretty strong skater..he isnt.
I'm not saying he has to be Pronger out there...but holy crap...look in the mirror dude..you are 6" taller than 90% ofvthe league...use you god-given traits to your advantage.
Somebody on he staff has to get to him about this.

Well, there is actually...
Skating and using physicality to his advantage.

He does when he's got the puck, and he pretty solid at getting in the way. He just doesn't throw thundering checks.

I really like: erod- angry larry- girgs
Tad bit of everything

I noticed eichel out there late in the pk. Coaches might be taking a look?

Sabres have a really likeable group of guys.

- Boss34

I think Eichel out there late in PK is to catch a tired 4 forwards and 1 D with speed and a scoring opportunity, but I could be wrong.

Just listened to Botterill’s interview on the Two Man Advantage Podcast with Pierre Lebrun and Scott Burnside and Ive never been more confident in my life in the direction of this team. We are in great hands with Botts, here are some tidbits

-The first rounders are untouchables unless the trade makes too much sense and it’s for a young established player that’s here for the long term

- He wants Skinner here long term. Said his impact in the locker room has been fantastic

-Said Phil and himself challenged the veterans of the team in the offseason and has been proud of Their response. Couldn’t have said any more good things about Eichel

-Stated Eichel, Risto, and Reinhart as their young stars and thinks they all have more development to go along with the Mitts, Dahlin, and Thompson

-Expect our reinforcements to come from the farm in the second half of the season. He didn’t mention anyone by name but said he expects guys to get a few games.

-They won’t be in the rental market, he specifically said that they understand they aren’t one player away from the cup. He is going to be very patient and has the amateur scouting department in full force trying to make sure we hit on our picks.

Yeah, it's fairly common for that to happen on the last change of the PK.

He is, he's also shooting 9% over his career average.

Also, suck it, Beady.

very random but man did NJ (frank) up hard in 2015.

6. Zacha
7. Provorov
8. Werenski
9. Meier
10. Rantanen

Just noticed Meier is 4th in 5v5 goals this year.

I just wrote a whole thing trying to defend them. Then I looked at his Junior numbers... That was just a horrible pick, he came here for a year of Junior and poop the bed, 34 points in 37 games in the OHL FFS! that's just bad for a center 6th overall pick. Provorov had 61 points in 60 games in a lower scoring league(WHL).

What the (frank) were they thinking? You can't even blame dementia with Lou, he was gone a few months before that draft.

I still say he breaks Gretzky's record. If Jagr can play until damn near 45, then Ovechkin can get to at least 40 and maintain a 30+ goal per year clip, maybe 25 at least on an off year.

Notice all these "career high" and "career low" numbers people keep dropping?

Maybe that slight variation has something to do with the reduced goalie pads and a player's adjustment to them, however easy or tricky it may be for each individual player, and also perhaps the goaltender's and their own adjustments to them?

I guess saying it will probably even out, and be 1 or 2, maybe up to 3 percent higher for most players. Who knows.

But Ovechkin hits 50 this season, that's pretty insane for a 33-year old.

In all honesty, besides Skinner and Reinhart, what winger on this team would you take over Thompson for the next 5 years?

How much would it mean to the team's future to say Nylander and have it turn out to be realized?

jack is the main reason why our top line works well

skinner and reinhart have great chemistry together with jack and are great performers with jack

the 3 make up the best line sabre fans have seen since the french connection

but patty and alexander are still the best duo of all time

Martin and Perreault get a mention?

I’d go after Colin White.

More seriously, I might see if there could be something done around Philip Zadina.

Caps score a lot but the have a pretty high GAA too. If Hutton stands on his head, we might steal one tonight. And if that happens, we can get on a roll again.

Top lines will each produce, Sabre’s win when depth chips in.

Agreed on Hutton, Dahlin needs to make less mistakes, he’s already 18

reasons to be happy

sabres are 3rd in the east, 3rd in division (1 point behind leafs)
no team below us in the division are on a decent run

reasons to be concerned

bolts and caps are on a tear, bolts now 9 points up on us
our goal differential is +6 compared to bolts +42, leafs +25, caps +21
bruins will get healthy and thus better and we are only 4 points ahead of them
pens are starting to get a bit better , in case it comes down to a wild card spot

time to nut up, LET'S GO

This would imply then that he will be making some moves with the roster, as many have surmized from the overloading of players on D especially, but the F's as well, when those with injuries return to health.
I look forward to seeing what he can do in that regard.

Ya, when Sabres played the Lightning on 11/29 they were 1 point ahead of the Bolts.
A little more than 2 weeks later it is 9 points the other way as you stated.
Sabres need to get 1 point tonight and 2 in regulation tomorrow night.
That would be a good weekend.
