This season has been interesting for me in terms of what we've seen from Eichel thus far. For some reason, even though he's putting up points at his highest rate yet, I just feel like we're just really starting to scratch the surface of what we'll see from him over the next few years in general. It's just this kind of weird gut feeling I have. I'm not in any way disappointed in what he's done so far, even going into this year, but he just seems like he's on the verge of breaking out in a way we can't even fathom.

He's on pace for 100 points this year right now. That's what I'd consider a break out.

(If Jack reaches 100 that would mean Skinner and Sam both hit about 80-90.)

I love what I've seen. There's just something that tells me we haven't quite seen him hit his final gear and full stride yet. That may seem crazy, it's just this gut feeling I have.

I thought Scandella struggled early and has been just fine since. I stopped "noticing" him, which in the case of defensemen, isn't a bad thing. Was he lighting it up out there? No. But do we really need him to?

The fact these words can be written regarding the Sabres is a breath of fresh air given the past several years.

It's been a long time since the Sabres played games they were expected to win.

The part in bold is pretty much what Dylan Larkin said after the Leafs Sabres OT game.

I think so as well in aspects. I think his team play game is on fire right now. I still think he has never level of some selfish dangles and wristers in there that'll come out offensively.

I don't care as much who's scoresheet they go on just that they go on the scoreboard.

I saw an interesting HOT TAKE the other morning...

That Philly's Ghost is quickly going down the path of one Tyler Myers. Incredible breakout first year. High offensive stats and great work on the ice. Slowly falls off... guys in the organization passing him. Now Ghost is 6th WORST of all defensmen in the NHL at -13.

HOT TAKE.

It was a pretty good read.

It also just reinforced to me the fact that at the end of the day, there's no correlation between having good advanced stats and winning. Because based on most of the advanced stats out there, Carolina should be winning the Cup this year and that seems pretty unlikely.

- HonkFortheGoose

I question the leadership of that organization.

Big test tomorrow night.
And, I hope the team is fully awars they need yo keep their head on a swivel, especially in thd nuetral zone after a pass with (frank)ing Tom Wilson on the prowl.

Besides the top line he had the most shot attempts last night, and was a half foot from scoring on a deflection at the end of the 2nd.

There’s no way they are taking his skill out of the lineup for Scott Wilson

- sbroads24

it doesn't take away from the fact that his overall game is lacking

McCabe

Scandella can go

Okposo is going to have to go

One of Berglund/Sobotka has to go

- Stripes77

I think McCabe is very underappreciated.

He's a big reason the defense is a mess right now.

Why trade him?

3 x 3.5 isn't gonna hurt this team.

Team guy, worked his way thru the system.

Too late

You see that pass last night?

Yeah you did. I know you liked that Pegs.

- RhinoFan

Was a great pass. The whole play was pretty textbook. Eichel forcing the d-men into that half shot, the Reinhart pass, the Eichel pass, and the finish by Jeff. Was great stuff

If Skinner gets between $8.5-9M I hope all the Reinhart fans dont get too attached.
- Pegullaville

Sabres have plenty of salary cap. It wont be a problem.

Let's give Pilut a bit more time before we crown him as a top 4 dman. He's played in 6 games. LIke what I've seen so far, but it's a very small sample size.
- HonkFortheGoose

But, send hudwick to Rochester or waivers without taking a look at him in a Sabres uniform?

Teams cheat toward Eichel which leaves Reino and Skinner more open than you'd expect.

People also forget McCabe lives next to Jack and Reinhart. He also has been like their dad. He is the one who kept checking on them to make sure they had food and would cook them dinner. Jack might want to keep him around.

this is a good take, but I don't think he'll get more than $3M...will probably be less than that considering where he is in the pecking order which is No. 4, at best, on the team

Tavares has Marner
Mackinon has Rantenen
Point has Kucherov.
Monahan has Gaudreau
Kuznetsov has Ovi

I like Skinner, and Reinhart is getting more consistent, but neither I would consider in the top 10 of their position of LW and RW respectively. Skinner is an elite goal scorer I guess but he isn't as well rounded as the other wingers I listed. He only has 10 assists in 32 games.

Good point, but that was last year.

Jack's on his own now.

McCabe had a condo right down the hall from the bicycle built for 2 boys

Oh believe me I know. How do you think the Reinhart poopfest started. It's cause I was busy defending Eichel when he was shooting at a 4.97% clip haha

If only we could pair Jack with a top winger like Evander Kane. That toughness plus goal scoring could be a good combo.

Wait.......

A good 3/4th defenseman is probably at 3-3.5, I agree.
