I see him as Maroon....nothing more or less....I feel it’s fair - RatedR80

I wonder if there's loopholes in the SHL-NHL transfer system to allow Persson to come over now rather than after the SHL season. He's absolutely killing it since late-October and is proving he doesn't need Pettersson to be maybe the best Dman in the SHL. We could use his skillset right about now. - MaximumBone
You think it translates to the NHL? Not saying he can’t do good I just haven’t seen any SHL to compare the two |

A bottom 6 winger but finds chemistry with McDavid?
That's fair, but he was playing well on the second line as well. |

I know last night, I said he reminded me of Maroon, but also maybe a poormans Ryan Smyth. Not all the talent in the world but he goes to the hard spots and works for it. |

He's a (frank)ing good center. Top 12 imo.
I would make that argument for Chaisson. Would you change your opinion and say he is at least a middle six player? - Oilers4Life14
I'd give him at least top-15 C with the addendum that he could quite easily assert himself as a top-10 if given a scoring winger (elite or not) of his own like most other top Cs have. I can't give him full credit for his points with McDavid when judging his ability as a C, but they still factor in as Hitch plays an "F1 is the down low guy" system.
McDavid, Crosby, Bergeron, Mackinnon, Malkin, Matthews, Backstrom, Getzlaf, Barkov, Eichel, Tavares, Scheifele, Stamkos, Kuznetsov, Seguin, Draisaitl, Couterier, Monahan, Kopitar and O'Reilly (Point, Barzal, Horvat, Larkin and Duchene are close)
Not necessarily in order, but all are within range of where I'd place them on a full ranking. |

Soooo...
Nurse & Larsson once again played 25+ minutes
Those two also had a combined total of 3 points tonight.

This was a topic a year or two ago. If I recall correctly the answer is no, but I could be mistaken. |

I've only seen two games of Vaxjo this year, but there's a guy I follow and occasionally chat with who follows Oilers prospects in Sweden and he speaks VERY highly of him. He's a modern NHL Dman in that he's great on his edges, has the hands to make plays and activates well. At worst, I'm confident he could replicate what Auvitu did (which is valuable IMO). |

If LD can eventually become our Malkin, while McDavid can be our Crosby (McDavid is already better obviously), I can live with that. Those are the types of players you build a championship team around.

He has. Now let us see if he can continue to do so for the rest of the season.
If Nurse can just develop his situational awareness, he could really turn out to be a great player.
I'm also getting the feeling that Hitchcock may be a part of this organization for longer than just this season. Anyone else fine with that? |

Indeed he is.
Might crack the 40 point mark yet, and not be a total defensive (frank)stick while doing it. |

Does he play left side? I know he shoots right but still unless we take Benning out of the pairings |

I feel that Hitch is a good short term option but will he drive the guys nuts if it’s long term? |

Even with a small sample size, I think they found the man they need at the helm of the organisation. Even with q available. I think they should stick with whats working. Even if we fall of a little, Im a-ok with what hes getting out of what hes working with.

Not that I saw. I'd rather keep Benning there for this season as he and Gravel have been lights out together under Hitch. |
