He’s seeing the pucks into his body. He’s getting to more shots on his feet. He’s maintaining his positioning by scrambling less. The elevated consistency has led to excellent across-the-board metrics in his first season of North American hockey with the Ontario Hockey League’s Sudbury Wolves.
Through his first 22 starts, Luukkonen is among the top three in the major goaltending categories with 15 wins (t-2nd), a 2.50 GAA (3rd), and a .922 save% (3rd). This past Sunday, he stopped all 28 shots sent his way in a 7-0 drubbing of Mississauga to move into a tie for the league lead with his second shutout of the year.

Just looked. 8pts in 16g for Western Mich, +12
Can't ask for much more out of a defenseman.

And the only reason for the +/- stat is it's big one way. He's on a 9-6-1 team that's 17th overall in NCAA, so he's not just on a great team.

Big. Physical. Good outlet pass. That's all I've read. Haven't watched any NCAA games, just the world juniors but I really liked his game.
