I mean, on draft day me and one other guy pointed out that he was never actually That good.

This isn't to say that he isn't good or won't be good, but he's basically the anti reinhart.

His silky hands, try hard stride, and occasional highlight reel goal makes it appear like he's doing more than he actually is. Everyone knew he wasn't mcdavid or eichel, but they saw one highlight package and assumed first line centre.

None of this is what I’m talking about though.

He’s a rookie with guys who don’t/can’t move the needle, and people are expecting him to score a ton?

Sam Reinhart needs Jack Eichel to do literally anything 5 on 5. Why would it be different for Casey as a rookie?

He was talking to Nucks to get Casey earlier in that draft

I choose to believe it was for Pettersson.

Girgensons is such a great representation of Regier's tenure. Masterful job acquiring the pick, smart to move up a couple of spots and then....poop.

Could have been worse if tinordi fell to them

Look on his face when habs got tinordi was priceless

It's not the points that bother me, he's not moving the needle either.

I agree it’s not looking great, but

A. He’s still under 40 career NHL games
B. His most common linemates are Sheary and Okposo who both are bottom 6 players and at times have been absolutely brutal.

If by this time next year he’s still not producing I’ll be worried

He is a bigger bust in terms of where drafted at this point

Even if he played in an all star game

- homiedclown

Hence why Buffalo has been mediocre for years s we’ve drafted terribly. You can add Grigorenko to that list. Armia and Zadorov were meh but at least we’re part of packages we just acquired the wrong players at the wrong time.

Serious question, show me a level of hockey in which he actually dominated outside of high school?
- Sabresfan-365

He dominated a WJC tournament that included Dahlin, TK, Svechnikov, and Pettersson.

Islanders lost in regulation.

One of the bottom 8 western conference teams.

Sabres need to keep 8 in the rear view mirror
Pens just down 4-3 not realistic for them to miss the playoffs

Rochester got blown out of the water tonight. Nylander with an assist on the lone goal though. Good to see Isles and Pens losing.

Mike Hampton gets his final check from the Rockies on Saturday, 17 years after he signed. He ain't got poop on DiPietro who won't stop getting paid until 22 years after he signed. I knew that, but every time I see it it blows me away.

Just going to leave this here:

Roughly 20 months ago, in the lead-up to the 2017 NFL draft, one particular league analyst had an infatuation. He laid eyes on a quarterback he was convinced fit the mold as a mature, pro-ready starting quarterback. So much so, when the analyst spoke to other members of the media, he was practically bursting, describing this prospect as a player who loved the game, could command men, read a defense and adjust to any scheme. A guy who should have been no lower than a second-round pick.

“He can memorize, he can execute any play you dream up, and he loves it,” the analyst said. “I’m smitten with him a little bit as a player.”

The hype volume was a 10 out of 10.

The quarterback was Nathan Peterman.

And the analyst was Jon Gruden.

He's playing 12 minutes a night; the same as the other 2 non-Eichel lines. When he's consistently playing 17 minutes, he'll produce more. Until then, we've got 3 3rd lines
