Are you High? Why the frig would he want to play for Arizona? In 10 years that team could be in Kansas City or Quebec. It's going to take a lot more than Auston Matthews to save that heap. Throw in a cheque for $100 million, a brand new $800 million building downtown Phoenix, and ANYTHING that resembles a professional hockey team roster and then MAYBE Matthews to the Coyotes makes any kind of sense. How many GTA players during the past two decades were clamouring to be Leafs? Almost none. Explain how Glendale Arizona would be any more attractive.

I say this to my butthurt Islanders fan coworker all the time. I love having a franchise here because I love hockey, but the Coyotes are probably the least stable in the league.

They've been in trouble since they moved to Glendale and Gretzky was the coach. Their roster is built on maybes and analytic lover players. They consistently miss on high draft picks. Ownership is shaky. The rink is nice enough but the location sucks.. Glendale is a dump - Bottom 3 in the state on almost every social measure. Matthews is not coming home next season.
