Folin is awful. Amac, when playing is well is much better player than Folin.
- Briere

I actually thought Folin had some OK games....but your right, him playing said more about how bad Amac was playing, not how good Folin was.

The talk that Fletcher is going to make major roster moves in a bid to make the playoffs is scary. This team is toast with Coach Clueless in charge.
- Feanor

I wouldn't count the playoffs out...although it doesn't look promising. Im not holding my breath. What I think they have to start to look for is building this team going forward with different players....hopefully fixing this poop show.

I wonder how many 5 plus goal defeats Hak can survive?

Folin is a decent 7D. Can travel with the team and fill-in for short term injuries, but not a guy you would want playing for an extended time.

When MacDonald is playing at his best, he calms the defense down. He is a better player than Folin is.
- MJL

problem is he hasn't played his best at all this year. I can't wait til they move on from him. seems like a really nice guy and I hate feeling this way about nice guys but god i can't wait.

Quoted by someone else on Saturday. “If you believe Giroux and Couturier shouldn’t be put together when Couturier returns, you’re an idiot”. This move is the best thing for the team in this present time. If it doesn’t work, the option is always there to put them back together. Simple!

I prefer Laughton at center and Lindblom moved up but I do love the lines for what they are. No complaint.

As for Sunday, I chock that game up to scheduling and bad decision in net. The team looked tired. Heck, the schedule might as well head the Flyers play at noon, rush the team on the team to the mid west and had them play later that evening west coast time. That’s a bad job by the nhl!

I think Giroux is just as capable at center as he is at wing. The issue in my opinion is more wear and tear. I think the best shot at keeping Giroux a top player longer is to play him on the wing.
- MJL

it doesn't help that they don't have too many capable guys for the PK either. More hard minutes Giroux has had to take on.

AMac is a legit NHL defenseman, just not a top-pair player like he was cast. When at his best, he's a very valuable player on our young blue line. Sadly, he hasn't been at his best most of the year. That still makes him a much better choice than Folin.
- jmatchett383

agreed he is but sadly the play of Folin and AMAC is to close to call this year.

I'd like for the team to develop better players for sure but right now, he is needed. I also want him back next season. I don't care if he is a nice guy or not. He is and has been a much better player than given credit for.

I agree. People tend to forget there was a reason that he was moved to the wing. His game at center was slipping. I think he'll do fine back at center for a while, but his game will slip again over the long haul. Obviously, part of these depends on who's playing on his wings. If/When G goes back to the wing... I would like to see him on Nolan's wings - I don't think Hak has played him there??? I don't think anyone has thrown it out there as an option? Nolan is in a sophomore slump, G may help him out of it and help his long term development in the NHL.
- leon neon

your statement discounts the injuries G had and played through.

I think more are capable, they just haven't played well on it.

Below is not related to your comments.

Thank God Giroux has been insubordinate to the coaches wishes on the PK and has played aggressively on the PK.

If only coach clueless would figure out that they need to take more shots from the slot and around the net and instruct the players to do so.

Did you have lunch with each of the defensemen to find this out or is this another one of your opinion that you treat as a fact.

If only the league would mandate the use of Mylec shin pads, perhaps more of the team’s point shots would make it to the net.

Do you really, honestly believe that Hakstol has been commanding his players to shoot from lower-percentage areas of the ice when higher-percentage areas are just as easily available?

It’s my opinion that exposing him to our young players takes their development in the wrong direction. If Travis sanheim has a question to ask, I wouldn’t want amac to be the one answering it.
