Well, I did. He looked really good with both Lindblom and Laughton. Played solid defense. Looked like a shiny spot on the PK too.
Edit:
Knight’s stat lines from preseason
4 1 2 3 3 2 0 0 0 0 4 18 13:11 18 65.5
3 points in 4 games, he looked good. Couldn’t get a lot going in the 3 regular season games, but it was spotty being scratched. He was still even plus/minus.
Found out, broken collarbone. Mid February at the earliest. - NC Flyers Fan
Those preseason numbers almost (ALMOST) as as impressive as Vorobyov's were. |

His second unit time lol. I'm looking at it more as , we thought you would be the 2C, you weren't ready, now Giroux has to go back to center. Maybe a small reduction in ice time but in his head a more serious demotion. - ClaudeFather
Claude Giroux centered the third line when he entered the nhl between Arron Asham and an injured Danny Briere who sat early that season. Wayne Simmonds is a good player and Scott Laughton is better than Arron Asham.
There was a time where Briere, Carter and Richards were our three centers and along cake Giroux, so things changed and players adjusted.
Even Simon Gagne was a third line player next to Keith Primeau and Sami Kapanen in the 2004 playoffs.
Please stop making me defense Dave Hakstol. Nolan Patrick will be fine! |

I agree. Patrick might see it as a demotion but that is speculation. Hopefully it's motivating for him. - MJL
Coots could see it as a demotion too, but I doubt he will. I guess you could call it a demotion in linemates for Patrick. |

This one is all faith in the development process. It has to be temporary. I haven’t gone back and watched tapes so I didn’t notice it without looking, but my guess is there was something there. - NC Flyers Fan

Yes, he was noticeable too. Vorobyev is still developing though; Knight would have been a upgrade to our role player there IMO.

Sean Couturier has been demoted to the second line. Poor guy is gonna have to continue checking top lines. Jake Voracek in my opinion is a demotion to play with since he was playing with Claude Giroux last week. |

I thought Knight played well for his call up, nothing more than a tweener, but for his limited time he did well. |

Lehtera has been pretty ineffective. Also, I’ve seen plenty of AHL vets come up and be effective for a short time before their play reverts to the mean. Guys like Al Hill, Don Nachbauer, Tim Tookey, Peter White and more recently Colin McDonald were able to come up play a solid couple to a few games in the past
Even Varone can only give them a couple of decent games it will still give them a bit more from the 4C spot that they have been getting recently from Lehtera. It also gives Fletcher a bit more time to address this issue. Perhaps he goes out and acquires a middle 6 LW (which should be less costly to acquire than a middle 6 center) and they can move Laughton to 4C.
Either way, there is little to risk to giving Varone a shot over Lehtera at this point. - BiggE
Tim Tookey!!!
I spent Wednesday’s and Saturday’s in high school watching Tim tookey and the Hershey bears roll through the ahl.
Nothing like banging on the glass during a good old fashioned bench clearing brawl. |

But that's my point. Yeah, against AHL/NHL split squads, Vorobyov (who's still young) looked good. Once it was all NHL competition, he looked out of place, because preseason and regular season are different beasts. So I put little stock in preseason, especially for AHL vets.
I have nothing against Knight, I just see him as a tweener at best. H e wasn't especially BAD by any means, but he didn't stand out to me, either. |

Where was i taking a shot at Dave Hakstol? I agree with the move. All i was saying was Patrick was going to receive less time and less quality linemates because he didn't play to what he was expected to. And that i hoped he would be motivated. Giroux came into a stacked team and yes played on the fourth line, Patrick was gifted 2C and couldn't produce, how are these things related? |

Why can't you comprehend Patrick was demoted? We all know top 2 lines are solid and will play similar minutes, this joke isn't funny. |

Giroux was only good when he came in because Scottie Upshall's good looks distracted the other team.
We need to acquire Lundqvist and put him on Patrick's line. |

He can learn from Couturier how playing with poor players at the start of your career can delay your offensive growth. |

Where did I say you were taking shots at Dave Hakstol? I was trying to get you to stop making me defend him. There is nothing wrong with Patrick being on the third line. He’s 20!! It’s not a demotion just so long he gets his ice time and sees offensive situations. Nolan Patrick will be just fine. |

Haha i think you are interpreting what i said wrong. I like the move to get more center depth with G added. There is nothing wrong with Patty on the third line I just hope it motivates him. He was handed the 2C and wasn't ready, I could see that affecting a players confidence. |

Here is tonight’s lineup. It doesn’t matter what it looks like, Sean Couturier is going to be checking the Sean Monahan line.

Look guys. You all will never hand me any credit about anything but Hakstol is finally doing things the right way by filling all the center spots with a very basic adjustment that I’ve screemed for since JvR was signed July 1st. Quickly getting to my point, Nolan Patrick centering the third line is so not a big deal. It’s far from. Giroux is 30, and so the circle of life will only hand Patrick the first line center spot before you know it... |
