Someone posted he is better. It's a legitimate question to ask why he thinks that.
- MJL

it is a legit question but a better to put it would be, Why do you think he might be better. I took it that way

Hoping this demotion to 3C lights a fire under Patrick's ass. I feel he's skated well lately, points haven't been there though.

A better way to put it would've been I think he's better rather than he's better.

Nope, question was not worded like that, do NOT try to apply logic or interpretation or you will be shunned.

Not a demotion...line number on paper means nothing. What's the difference between playing 15 minutes a night on the 2nd and playing 15 mins on the 3rd?

I would think he'll be playing less minutes. G and Cooter will probably both still play towards 20 minutes, not gonna be enough to go around. Kind of turns into a true first and second line, Just my thought process.

Sweet Jesus, how is playing on the third line a demotion? Is he playing with Dale Weise and Jori Lehterä? Has his Power Play ice time been taken away?

I think if both Giroux and Coots are playing 20 minutes then I would expect a lot of shorthanded time in the game for the Flyers.

Towards 20 minutes. Both on Powerplay and PK (obviously), Patrick's ice time should take a hit.

Ok that is true, shorthanded time only lasts 30 secs where PP is a full 2 mins.

His second unit time lol. I'm looking at it more as , we thought you would be the 2C, you weren't ready, now Giroux has to go back to center. Maybe a small reduction in ice time but in his head a more serious demotion.

Most of Patrick's usage has been between 14-17 mins throughout the season, we will find out if he is used less if he is under that tonight.

Let's hope Couturier's demotion doesn't play in his head.

I agree. Patrick might see it as a demotion but that is speculation. Hopefully it's motivating for him.

It’s about linemates lol.

I personally enjoy the ongoing development of Lindblom with Weise and Lehterä.

This is hands down a demotion. Makes zero sense.

This one is all faith in the development process. It has to be temporary. I haven’t gone back and watched tapes so I didn’t notice it without looking, but my guess is there was something there.
