Yup good on him .

For me it's as much on Oiler management for not having a strong veteran presence around these kids and letting them get away with it. Kevin Lowe thought he could replicate the early 80's with the "boys on the bus" mentality and it just didn't work in todays game.

I think we are lucky we have Bo for that reason, Virtanen has seem to have turned the corner and the room doesn't seem like a bunch of party boys

No, you're correct, I was wrong, I looked back and I was mistaking Jake Wise for Jack Drury.

That said, my point still stands they identified two kids ranked within five to ten picks of each other and made the right choice. Something they didn't do with Virtanen, which was my original point. Ehlers & Nylander both ranked right there with Jake Virtanen but they didn't make the right pick.

Water under the bridge, things changed in their process and I think they're making better decisions.

That organization's been so mismanaged over the past ten years!! Glass houses though, the Canucks haven't been much better with Aquilini and his puppet Benning in charge.

I don't remember why I looked this morning at the central rankings but I had noticed them ranked beside each other.

I like their rankings for the most part. Squashing the euros in between the NA is tall task.

The process has changed for Van, it was well known that JB got new scouts with new guidelines.

I think JV would show his worth more in the playoffs.

Points....you always just concentrate on goals

If Horvat had Ehlers on his wing, with Pettersson having Boeser, we'd be a lot further ahead. But you keep defending that bad pick lol. It's ok to admit when you make a mistake, they made a mistake, all teams do it.

The great Steve Yzerman did it with the 6th overall pick taking Connolly, it happens.

I know he's just messin around. What I find comical though, is someone defending something that was clearly a mistake, at least up to this point, just because you're a fan of the team. Mistakes are mistakes, poop happens.

Jake is not a "truculent" player. He's a good third line energy guy who is now chipping in offensively and he can move up when he's rolling. That's not a bad thing.

Chris Kreider, as I mentioned earlier, I think Nucker originally came up with that comparison, was 22 when he came onto the Rangers scene full-time and scored 17 goals 37 points. Then he has three 20 goal seasons 43-53 points. That's kinda where I see/hope Virtanen.

That was me. I had 112 assists and only 14 goals one season. My center men had 92 goals. We were dynamic. I have a lot of trophies from that season. Trophies that only we got for winning, none of that thanks for trying poop ones.
