when do we discuss that Shatty is probably the worst player and contract on the team?

Cap hit isn't really the issue, but he's NOT a first pairing Dman. Trotz said it years ago. Adding insult to injury is that his D zone shortcomings are even more unfogivable since he's not putting up points, especially on the PP.

When does his NMC come into effect? He would be taken by a team at deadline....return?

actually he has a limited 10 team NTC right now

the only thing his NMC does is prevent him from being sent to AHL

I have no problem replacing all 6 of our defenseman. I honestly think we do not have one top 4 defenseman. It is a team full of #5 or #6 guys. Some have offensive upside and can skate. In our own end they are a train wreck

Most offensive upside along with Tony D, but still pretty brutal in his own end.

Pierre McGuire actually hit in on the head when he said that Pionk is the new Norm Maciver, I think it's perfect comparison

GM has to be committed to the rebuild 100% and deal off pieces with high trade values: Hayes, Kreider, Zucc, MZ

Once those players are gone, this team will tank into the bottom 3 and Hughes becomes a possibility, who I think will change the dynamic of this team for the next 10 years.

Now, lets consider Hank does want to be traded once he finally realizes this team is going NO where for the next 3+ seasons. His value is peaking given his age/#s this year.

I'm sure Buffalo thought the same with Eichel, or the Oilers with McDavid. No way do I sell off every vet and have a team full of rookies and young players. There has to be a healthy mix

if he only had this year left I'd say it would be likely

2 more years kills it for everybody

except maybe Calgary, but, you'd have to convince Lundqvist to leave Manhattan for Calgary

I have to agree with Torts' comments a few weeks ago regarding teams not hating each other anymore. Obviously, there are strong connections between these two teams, but at some point your friends on the other side must become your enemies. I was ok with Nam joking with guys at the opening faceoff. But when he did it again late in the game, I was pissed. Same goes for whatever Hayes was laughing about on the bench. At that point they were down 5-2. I can't think of anything that's funny about losing in a game like that. Infuriating watching things like that!

no way a 4.25 (!) cap hit gonna turn everyone off - how bout his crazy leadership in the locker? playing for just any other proper team, the guy would have a Cup!
