6/36 or the haul he could bring at the deadline.

just depends how close they really feel they are to actually competing. and if lasts night shows anything, while they played hard they are seriously lacking in high end skill

True, but right now I think he is the best center we have. Things could change, but I'm not sure you trade your best center who still has a bunch of good years ahead of him.

Do you think Hank is done at the end of his contract? I have been wondering if he will keep playing.
- JRR1285

well, he sure as hell would love to win and/ or improve his #'s to make sure he gets in the hall of fame

I don't know, honestly. I think he is young enough that he will still be very valuable once the Rangers turn the corner in a few years. He seems to be getting better each year and he doesn't play the type of game that will wear him down. I think he had the one injury last year with the bone bruise but has been relatively healthy.

I would, very similar game to Nash where he plays well all over the ice but he is a center

To me, the only shame in Hank not winning a Cup is that we were SOOOOO close a few years ago. I would feel less emotional about him winning with someone else (anyone else) than I would about him finishing out his career in NY with class and pride, the way he has to date.
I don't feel like Ray Bourque was a better player or had a better career for having won the Cup with Colorado. I actually would have had more respect for him if he stayed in Boston and tried his best with the teammates he had and helped them groom the next generation.
Besides, and I don't know if any of you know this, Hank has a full NMC and kinda likes it here.

Have to disagree about Borque. By all accounts a first class guy, and I don't blame him for going to Colorado at the end of his career to chase the cup since Boston didn't have a realistic shot. That Avs team was ridiculous.

Also I believe it was Boston that wanted to give him that chance. It wasn't Borque saying get me the hell out of here so I could win a cup.

If I remember correctly Borque thought he was going to Philly 1st.

I think it was more to the point that winning the Cup didn't cement Bourque as a Great/Hall of Fame player...he was that already.

Don't remember Philly being in the mix, but I do remember Boston asking him if he wanted a shot at the cup and writing his ticket. That was really decent of the B's.

Cup was the icing. Glad he got his chance to hoist it.
Still remember Sakic skating right over to Ray after his lap.

realistically I dont think there is a contender who wants to trade for 2 more years of Lundqvist after this present season

the only team I thought would be a potential landing spot would be St Louis, but they are awful, so obviously they are out

when do we discuss that Shatty is probably the worst player and contract on the team?
