Zaitzev, Kapanen, 1st, 2021 conditional 2nd(condition being if the leafs win the cup in the next two years it becomes a 1st) and a C prospect like Tamishov

I’d love for Kapanen to be swapped for Johnnson or Brown...but STL needs something they can be proud of coming back. Kap does it for them.

When you look at the Mcdonaugh deal the value works out to be about the same. I think Petro is the slightly better player but I think the value would be similar.

Doubt it'd cost that much, unless there are other teams that are in the market who want to drive up the price. If there's reason to believe he won't resign in STL and STL is going nowhere then perhaps the price is lower.

I think it's more than slightly. I think Pietrangelo is a lot better than McDonaugh.

My hesitation would be that I think they are maybe more than him away from a cup. I don't think the Leafs are quite ready to deal futures. He would also be difficult to afford. For this year, I would still stay the course

I'm okay with that.

Don't get me wrong, I've been one of Gards' biggest defenders on here (if only he could defend THAT well!), but if it's a choice between one of them, you have to go with Pietrangelo every day of the week.

The real question of course is what the cost would be to acquire him. If you can move out Z too then that helps to really solve the problem.
