Top reasons why the Coyotes are awesome...

-Raanta for Vezina and Kuemper is the best backup ever
-OEL for Norris
-Keller and Strome are potential superstars that could get 100 points
-Stepan and Hjalmarsson and Demers are solid vets
-Galchenyuk >> Domi

Great insight!

The last time I checked, Domi was by far the luckiest player in the NHL, and Galchenyuk missed the first ten or so games.

Is there an analytic catagory for luck?

Why are you acting as if those words are wrong? Kuemper is injured. They are certainly in better position than they were last year where they had no backup.

Didn't they acquire DK last season forming the dynamic duo?

Chayka said today they will fill in for Raanta internally.

Interesting. Do you think that Hill, Pickard, etc. can be successful for long stretches?

Hey I don't mind the trade from the Rangers perspective - it made sense based on their needs. But any time you land a legit starting goalie, that's a good trade.

Yes, that does make for a good trade. But, that's not what you said. You implied that they completely destroyed NY in the trade, "heisting" him from the "unsuspecting Rangers." Not even remotely the case.

Looks like it's another beat up on Tanner day. Thankfully you can take a punch James. Domi may have had some good fortune but the guy plays hard. Every single night. Already with 14 goals (not a single empty netter) and on a ppg pace. Watching him against Zac Smith a few nights ago made me appreciate him even more. After watching Galchenyuk since he was drafted I knew what the Yotes were getting. Extremely talented but so inconsistent he makes you want to pull your hair out. No passion for the game. Galchenyuk had 30 goals one season, but actually averaged 19. On top of that he makes two million more right now. Too early to tell who got the better of this deal? Maybe, but very few Habs fans would reverse it if they could.

Domi's talented no doubt, but I am still waiting for somebody smack that poop-eating grin off his face.

Leafs get Anderson for 30th pick, plus a 2nd rounder.

Coyotes get Raanta for 7th overall. Oh and they also had to include a young d-man for the privelege of paying Derek Stepan $6.5M x 5 more years.

Hmm, I think everyone in the universe would prefer the cost to acquire Anderson rather than Raanta. Even guys like Bishop, Jones, Fleury were had for way less than what Arizona paid for Raanta.

P.S. Before Raanta got injured, his GAA was 2.88 and SV% .906. Worse than Kuemper and Hill.

I knew I should have proposed a case of beer bet to Tanner that Washington would make the playoffs and Arizona wouldn't.

"Raanta has put up stats that would suggest..."

I guess stats don't really tell that much of a story

At least you won the schmaltz trade so far.... 6 points in 6 games.
