No he hasn't, and no I don't. He is useless
- jcragcrumple

Here we go again
Sorry sir... you’ve been proven wrong on this over the course of this whole season
Every player has bad games
Singling out one here & there isn’t an indication of his play overall

Regardless...
bringing in 3 more rookie forwards to add to Mitts & Thompson who are already struggling is a drastic & desperate attempt

We aren’t nearly at the point yet of throwing up a Hail Mary

I’m trying to remember if it was Marner , Matthews, nylander on one line
- gerbe75pts

They never did that. They tried marner with Matthews for a 2 periods one game just so Babcock could say they tried it but it didn’t work.

That’s the thing though,
the other lines haven’t been clicking
Not on the scoreboard anyways
And definitely not consistently

PS. Welcome back!

- jdfitz77

That is true but once those lines start clicking it’s gonna be a fun ride

I love Casey’s game I really think he’s going to break out soon you can see he’s studying then game as it goes. Yes there are some games where people probably want him in Rochester but he needs to make mistakes at this level and just go through the motions imo

JFC are your for real with this? Berglund? Sure lets put Jake between Beglund and Thompson, Championship here we come... WTF.....
- hehateme

I’ve been told that Berglund scored 17goals in 57games last year
And that Thompson is a good prospect
And that whoever plays with Jack, they’ll produce

Also...
i said Berglund OR Thompson on his LW
Not both
But ya know, reading & comprehension is overrated i guess

And ALSO...
we aren’t a “Championship team” THIS season, no matter what moves we make

-10 this year: on pace to top his -30 from last year

1 goal - on pace for 3.8 goals instead of his 4 from last year

On pace for 8 points - half of what he had last year

19 pims (14 without the fighting major)

50.14 F/O %

You’re probably right but I’m pretty sure they had I think 7 or 8 rookies on that roster that made the playoffs correct ?

Except they get actually decent O-Zone zone time, and create zero actual scoring opportunities. They can get the puck out of the D-Zone, but can't do anything with it. They should change on the fly as soon as the puck gets into the O-Zone so they can put players on the ice who can actually, you know, score goals.
- Wetbandit1

Well that would be an option too
But getting the puck out of our zone & just tilting the ice is a pretty good accomplishment for a “4th line”
Isn’t it

Here’s the thing
They aren’t gonna score
Bringing up kids to spark the scoring MIGHT help
But let’s be a little smarter about it
We still gotta play defense

Ya they did. Their 1st year they had a huge turnover of players. They went with youth and clinched a playoff spot on the 2nd last game.
It’s very similar to buffalo, leafs started out a little slower though. It wasnt until around mid January that leafs were still in a playoff race and it was actually a possibility.

Once he's mercifully off this team, I will be released

Even if u were right about Larsson...
adding 3 more rookies to the young guys who already aren’t producing is too drastic a step to take for where we are currently at

am looking at the bottom six and am trying to figure out which line will be matched up against the stamkos, matthews, Tavares and Bergeron lines...they'd get run over imo...

that said, I get your point

Let's go with something new...

ROR and leadership....go.

You're right, there has to be a balance in there. I know that there's no way an NHL team would ever do what I'm proposing while in a playoff position.

But I would either like a shakeup trade, or just waive 1 random guy. They have their pick of like 5.

Some of the dead weight needs to be cast off this team. Olofsson should be here, imo.

It's amazing to me that Reinhart makes $2m more than Larsson and gets so much more poop thrown at him on this board than Larsson who is actually useless
- jcragcrumple

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!

I want you all to know, this post moved me deeply.

Someone, out there, understands.

Valid point. I would ask, do we have more problems shutting down the opposing team's top lines or getting secondary scoring?

I'd argue we need more scoring and we can work on the defensive scheme as we go.

I honestly don't get it.

Players who don't do anything shouldn't be expected to do more, but players who produce aren't doing enough

It's the blue collar Buffalo-brand Brian Burke truculence factor

am of the opinion that botts is gonna let this play out again...can't see him messing with too much right now as Rochester is doing well and his sabres have been exceeding expectations

secondary scoring, but i'm willing to see this whole thing out up to the trade deadline...it's not like their window has been open and will be closing soon...they're just beginning to open it...count me as really surprised the Sabres are where they are right now

It's amazing to me that the 4th line center is talked about at all when the middle 6 is clearly the problem.

Why is there so much negativity lol

Why are you guys worried about players that will most likely be gone after this year ?

I usually hate on Larry and Gus but they have been pretty good for the roles they play

Start worrying about the 2nd and 3rd lines 🤘
