I’d rather tinker with the lineup now,
then when we are down 3 games to 1 in the playoffs

Yeah, i said PLAYOFFS!!!

- jdfitz77

funny, i was just thinking, if they're semi serious about a push to the playoffs, now would be the time to start tinkering.

Pominville can have success with Jeff and Jack. The almighty Reinhart should be able to spark Sheary and Mitts.
- Pegullaville

He should, but i fear that's one too many passengers on a 2nd line.

They really should be able to get more out of 2 lines that consisted of:
Mitts, Reinhart, Okposo, Sheary & Thompson

But for whatever reason,
they just haven’t found a combo that’s worked

Maybe try Sam back at Center?
Or give E Rod a shot at centering one of those lines?

Worth exploring...
but having a really rough year
Even worse than his down season last year
So i wouldn’t give up a ton for him
Talented, but risky

I don’t really disagree...
but we don’t have many options left to try & get the middle6 going

E Rod, Sobotka, Okposo, Mittelstat, Girgensons, Berglund and Sheary/Pominville since coming back from their injuries have all been total disappointments...

Short of trading for a 2nd line center (Something we should do) I'd seriously consider calling up Nylander and or Oloffson

Only a few players in the entire league have more shots on goal then Eichel. Going a whole season with a shooting percentage of 4.97% was not going to happen. With all of this considered he was still averaging over a point a game which I thought was a remarkable feat.

It's almost as if anomalous statistics observed over a small sample size don't mean much.

Who knew?

He played well tonight with angry Larry and girgs.

Berglund can stay in the press box.

Erod has 1 goal?

Sheary was always a product of Crosby so I wasn’t really surprised. Pominville is 36 and even last year only produced when with Eichel. Berglund I think could still be a useful player if given an opportunity higher up in the lineup but is another passenger. Sobotka lost whatever snarl he used to play with and gives nothing offensively. Girgensons is finally in a role that is perfect for him and I have no complaints.

Oddly enough Eichel has always started off slow too. It wasn’t until after Christmas the last two seasons until he started playing at a PPG pace. If he can replicate the last two seasons and go on a 30 point in 18-20 game stretch like he’s done before look out.

Idk if it’s a Cap Space thing, or Botts doesn’t wanna mess with Rochester, or he just thinks they aren’t ready...
but it seems like that’s gonna be more of a last resort kinda thing

I actually think these 3 do a good job as an energy/shutdown/4th line. I dont like rotating Elie/berglund, etc in and out of this line. Just keep these 3 together. They understand their role.

Not a bad idea

Puts Berglund into the top9 though
Maybe he can mesh with one of those middle 2 lines & get some scoring going

Kinda nice to see Cal Petersen get a taste first hand of how Buffalo is on the way up & LA is on the way down

I couldn’t believe he chose the Kings
Made no sense to me

But that’s what he gets for being a traitor

Sheary looked good with Eichel but I agree. He appears to be the product of a good centerman. Which is why we should trade for a guy like Hayes or Coyle.

Berglund has zero offensive ability. I've watched him and Sobotka very closely this year and they can't score or create any semblance of offense. Girgensons looked good tonight but he has a habit of playing one or two great games then disappearing for the next 20

During the winning streak their were times him and Larsson were good in their own end but with the exception of tonight, neither has shown any offensive ability.

Not sure where he'd go. Maybe bench Sobotka and put Berglund on 3rd line. Either way lines 2-3 have been

I like tage, but he needs to do something
I like mitts, but he needs to do something

Sobotka sucks
