Both streaks are over. Can we get back to reality?
- Chris16

We’ve got 40pts now in 31games

As long as we stay healthy...
100pts is a real possibility
(60pts in 51games)

Which would pretty much blow my expectations out of the water

I was thinking 90ish points
Possibly less

Most underappreciated buffalo athlete of all time.

Jack is a mega superstar.

*On pace for 100.5 points this year

- Boss34

Jack?!
He’s overwhelmingly adored here
A few ppl wanting him to score more goals doesn’t change the overall sentiment

What?

Common normal Buffalp fans, they get it.

But our "experts" here call him overpaid and "clank"

He should score more goals? How's 5 in 3 games?

It was inevitable that Jack was gonna score goals.
He is dominant

It's not necessarily the goal numbers. His shot and shot attempt numbers are pretty low for someone who is being given the reverse larsson treatment. And despite that, hes still apparently hurting the team defensively.

It's not bad, especially like you said, weren't expecting too much from him, but by all accounts they've put him in a position to have a good year and he's kind of been meh.

- Sabresfan-365

That’s fair
I do notice his speed out there though
For whatever reason,
we just haven’t been able to get anyone clicking on the 2nd or 3rd lines
They’ve all looked mostly “meh”

Even now he’s on pace for 25 goals
A select FEW have called him out for that
Most would’ve thought 30-35goals

That said
99% of ppl in & around Buffalo LOVE Jack

I must admit, ive made a mistake here. The stats I was looking at weren't up to date, appears sheary is trending in the right direction now. Hopefully it's a sign of things to come because you're right, that entire line has kinda just been meh in most areas. Surprising tbh because I thought they'd fit well together.

You could also be impressed with them sitting 4th overall in the conference and 5th in the league up from last place last year but I have a feeling you like to wallow in pity.
- sabresfan69

Or they should have handled a 31st place team coming off a back to back. But I guess my expectations are too high.

Only a few players in the entire league have more shots on goal then Eichel. Going a whole season with a shooting percentage of 4.97% was not going to happen. With all of this considered he was still averaging over a point a game which I thought was a remarkable feat.

You’re not wrong. This team is still flawed. I’ll take the two points though and be mad on a night they lose.

I’m not sure people can use the “eichel never takes over a game” argument.

He pretty much willed the team to the win today with his effort in the third

I wouldn't be against them going nuclear on that 2nd line (even 3rd)

Near as I can tell the line really lacks a leader in the sense that two of them can't drive the offense and one of them is a little too young for that role.

Imo they could swap Okposo and Skinner or Move Mittelstadt to Eichel's wing, less puck on his stick may reduce the pressure, could equal more points. Then put Sheary, Berglund/sobotka and Skinner together.

I know it looks putrid but the middle six has been totally ineffective for most of this year. Tonight they generated 4 shots and no points.

I know it’s kinda crazy to say...
but maybe we should swap Sheary & Skinner

We gotta get that 2nd line going at least

Probably
But a few ppl wanting him to score more when he only had 5 goals a few games ago isn’t exactly uncalled for
Even they know how good he is
That’s why they wanted to see more

It’s easily our biggest issue thus far

I don’t wanna separate Jack & Skinner,
but we are running out of options

I was a huge Jeff Skinner fan even when he was in Carolina but before the season his historical point production and even goals per game was almost identical to Evander Kane. He already has 21 goals and is averaging a point a game. Now Skinner is obviously an elite 5v5 goal scorer but without Eichel this team is a lottery team. Eichel is willing us to a possible playoff berth nevermind just one game.

It was completely uncalled for:
Jack leads the league in shots
Jack was shooting at a career low %
Jack has skinner setting records
Jack has sam getting points.

If you go to the games, jack is better then any player on the ice 95% of the time.

Yeah I dont think its crazy at all fwiw, but maybe im crazy.

The extreme offense/defense set up for lines 2-4 isn't usually sustainable anyways, they may as well give "spreading the wealth" a shot.

While all that’s true...
ppl just wanted to see it translate into more goals

I really don’t think there’s anything wrong with that

Ppl wanted more, bc they knew how awesome he is

And it really wasn’t even that many ppl

If people can't see why we tanked for jack, they are blind.

Aside from the drive, power and speed:

Jack's entertainment value is incredible

I’d rather tinker with the lineup now,
then when we are down 3 games to 1 in the playoffs

Yeah, i said PLAYOFFS!!!

Pominville can have success with Jeff and Jack. The almighty Reinhart should be able to spark Sheary and Mitts.
