I can't agree on this one. He pushed Cat from behind. A cheap, "dirty" play anytime. And with a 2 goal lead that late, I just think it was just that, a cheap cowardly play. Just hope The Cat is alright. Seemed to down into the boards kind of awkwardly as a result. Buff just seems too out of control too often.

he has been more of a cheap jagbag since he left the hawks...its the wack from behind, the extra push and face job...

Laz raised the idea of tanking with the team before the game: https://theathletic.com/7...hes-to-come-save-the-day/

. . .if you think the Blackhawks themselves are waiting on some 17-year-old kid to come save the day, well, you didn’t see the mix of fury and disdain in Marcus Kruger’s eyes when I clumsily asked him about the idea of “tanking” Tuesday afternoon in Winnipeg.

“No,” he said, seemingly using every ounce of willpower in his body to resist impaling my head on a hockey stick in the visitors locker room of BellMTS Centre.

I tried another tack. Do players ever take the big-picture look, and think about the not-too-distant future, when things are going poorly?

“No,” he said.

I waited, hoping he’d elaborate this time.

“You just try to win each night,” he said, sharply.

Well, does it surprise you that some fans are basically rooting for you guys to lose the rest of the season so you can land the No. 1 pick?

“Yeah,” he said. “Surprises me a lot.”

Buff is garbage now. He hits to injure plain and simple. He was interviewed during the game. He is also dumber than a bag of pucks. Dirty and dumb - not a good combination.

Colliton useless - no challenge to Buff no challenge to player who hit Kane. What is Hayden’s purpose? Apparently it is to skate around, never hit anyone, falling down constantly.

He is definitely a poop stirrer, even more so now that he's at The Athletic. And, I've always thought he was quite impressed with himself.

I feel like he played a similar game in Chicago. We just didn't mind when he was on our team.

Same thing with Shaw.

Hate to play against him but teammates love those guys and they are the pure energy of the team night-in-and-night-out.

they screwed this young coach...but he does have a future in this league but not in this situation...

the cynic in me wants to see this team go 0 for december...

StanBlowman will finally get what he deserves.

- bogiedoc

Colliton coached 4 years of Tier 2 Swedish Beer League then 1 year at Rockford. It is pathetic that he was named Coach - didn’t earn it. Clearly does not have the respect of the team. In over his head. Nothing he has done indicates that he has any special coaching skills, setting him apart. Immature, terrible hiring - a joke.

Why is ROCKY waiting to do the inevitable hard decision by firing bowman? Team not making the playoffs more and more at the uc are empty the media is ripping this team and the decisions bowman has made. So all i want for x mas is BOWMAN and Mcego to be fired.before they do anymore damage. Bowman in season then Mcego after the season. Hire hockey guy who knows the league and inner workings of the nhl to be President of hockey operations then hire mark hunter or zito to be gm oh by the way fire the scounting staff also.

Rutta takes a bad penalty that leads to another goal and JC puts him right back out there?

Why? Trying to reward bad play?

coughed up 1st goal 20 of 32 games...

10 of the last 11 games:

1. fallen behind either 2-0 or 3-0
2. 4x it 3-zip
3. in the 1st jet game they gave up 2 goals but also scored 2.
4. 5 strt games falling behind 2-0 in the 1st; 2x 3-0
5. 11 strt games they have given up 2 goals in the first...WTF

for (frank)'n sake this is amateur hour...kane called the first period "embarrassing"...

after 11 strt...embarrassing has lost its meaning with this bunch

ONE GOAL: try getting out of the 1st WITH ONE GOAL against...HOORAY!!

3x 8 game losing streaks in the last 63 games....

Colliton will be here through next season - they’ll give him a full season with a fresh training camp - whether he deserves it or not. They won’t dump him with two years left on his deal.

Bowman will be here as long as Colliton is here.

Just MHO.

- StLBravesFan

Every owner has a 'capitulation point'. He may find it distasteful but when Rockwell looks up at the stands with 9000 (or less) in attendance and the howls for Bowman's scalp just too loud to ignore, he will be forced to do something. And it won't be in 2020.

I like Kruger's attitude. I want to cheer for guys that battle every night. If Kruger would accept a pay cut, I'd take him back next year as a fourth line C.

Every opposing coach has the same game plan and it isn't rocket science. They tell their teams to jump to the hard forecheck right from puck drop in the 1st because the Hawks D will turn over the puck and the forwards will not be in position to help down low or clear their zone. "It will be 3-0 boys before they even know what hit them. Game set match"

Coaching staff is clueless.

I mentioned that 5 games ago...that has been the MO all year...this bunch still can't figure out how to answer that...

hawks are creating unforced errors and positioning gaffs with impunity; count the number of times 1 pass beats 2 or 3 hawks in the D-zone; tonight it was 12 with goals and grade A chances resulting

If Laz was half the badass he wants to pretend he is, he'd have an interview with Rocky and ask the tough questions by now. At a minimum, he'd challenge Stan on his BS.

This has been said 310 times the last 3 weeks- we agree & get it/
Time for the fans to send an open letter to Rocky demanding change or walk out in mass half way through the first period of the next home game -

Either way change is coming -
I anticipate Stan resigning in the next two weeks.

Bowman will be the first to go.

His selection of Colliton could be his downfall. And it's not Colliton's fault. He has been put in a position to fail.

- Justin Lowe

“And it is not Colliton’s fault”? Why isn’t it. I’ve said it before that he applied for and took the position of Head Coach, not Head Coach with Training Wheels, not Head Coach in need of Mentoring, not Head Coach in need of Development. We will never know what would have happened if the Hawks had hired an experienced, respected Coach with a different approach than Q. On a team with players with 3 Cups, 3 Conn Smythes, Olympics, World Cups, an Art Ross, a Hart the Hawks chose the coaching equivalent of a guy walking down the street.

Colliton had exactly 4 years of Tier 2 Swedish Beer League which was enough for StanBo to give him Rockford in the AHL. Won a few play-off series riding veterans dumped to Rockford that had no future and are no longer in the organizatoon. Was not a developmental run based on many young players. Also there were no expectations and consequently no pressure at all.

Not one NHL game, even as an Assistant. If you are going to hire someone like Colliton, with absolutely no experience, he has to be really something, really progressive, a hockey genius. There is NOTHING to suggest that Colliton has any special skills or intuition or knowledge, as a Head Coach setting himself apart. This is not a question of age it is a question of competence. I believe that someone young can be very special but this is NOT Colliton.

HUGE MISTAKE by Bowman - HUGE!
