Late hit, on an unsuspecting player, blindside or not, he didn't have to deliver that hit, he chose to and paid the price for it. Sucks but figured a game or two and that is what he got.

Do feel we need more grit, more ability to play a tougher physical game. In the end that is up to Dubas to address but will see. In the meantime team needs to find a higher compete level and get on track here.

That's actually not true. There is no defined amount of time. (But yes it was late. Penalties served in the game should have sufficed.)

In my day it was 3 strides. Not coast from 0.9 seconds away. (frank) me

Not defined - acceptable limit - a gauge per say. Still a judgement call by the ref...and DOPS, who saw the hit for what it was.

Should make for some exciting games forthcoming...need to channel the Habs in order to beat them.

That's what I was getting at. It's a guideline because they've never suspended anyone for under .6 but there is no time they use at all. Parros didn't even mention any specific time at all.

And UG you have yourself a great night. No point in discussing further with you since all you want to do is be a contrarian to everything always.

Shows how fast this game is, doesn't it. The poop that can happen in less that 10 seconds is incredible.

No point in discussing it because it's obvious he deserved the suspension.

Game is really fast but you can still tell when something is late, especially in certain situations like a 6-2 game.

Was on the fence about Hyman and this may sound sad to a few of you. But he just became one of my favz. Up there with Naz. Not because of the hit but because he showed some (frank)ing emotion and there was no turtleing or disappearing when it got rough. I'd take a Simmonds or a Manson in a heart beat.

Your words don’t matter to anyone here

I still don’t know why you waste your time here

- Santo_44

Yea he's not worth responding to. Only way to rid ourselves from him is to not respond. Not even ONCE. Eventually he'll go back to the Bruin thread where he came from. That's why he's here.

Seriously man..

I don’t understand why all of the sudden so many of you’s forget the fundamentals of the game. If the leafs had toughness throughout the lineup, the guy wouldn’t be sitting on the bench now would he? Nooo, he wouldn’t.

I’ve said (for the 1 millionth time today) that they shouldn’t get a goon. Just guys throughout the lineup who’ll stand up for teammates.

- Arctic_AARDVARK

The issue with this is there isn’t many guys like that in the league... it’s the same telling a gm to go out and get a top4 rhd. Teams that have a player like that aren’t available usually.

And to get toughness throughout the lineup will require multiple moves. Last thing I'd do to a team that is 20-9-1 and second in the league is go make multiple moves. People seem to think they can just call any team and ask for a player and get them without a fight on here.

Well, the Leafs cants be the softest team in the league. (frank) that.

I’m only suggesting Marchment because it’s a cheap and easy option.

This has to be addressed by the deadline.

Exactly. If that happened to a Leaf...the same people thinking the hit was ok would have lost their minds.
- Woderwick

People thought the hit that injured matthews was charging and possibly suspendable.
Ah well
What can you do. He got 2 games, sucks but its done.

Wait! What?

This isn’t team Canada where we can pick and choose between skill and toughness?

You’re telling me we can’t have everything we’ve ever wanted???

They will do that forsure, but what kind of player is out there that will bump out someone in the top 9?
We’re looking at a 4th line player and when push comes to shove, they’ll see 7 mins or less of ice time.
