Suspended for finishing a check less then 1 second after he had the puck

Meh, Matt Martin finishes most of his checks long after .9 secs

Garbage IMO but we’ll get a chance to check out some new lines or player maybe.

GLG

If I was a coach. I would of sat Hyman if he didn't finish his check there. Yes I'm old school but this Pussifying of the league has got to stop IMO.

Nope. More than a second, clearly a late hit, blind side, to the head; clearly a suspension.
- Unholy_Goalie

Once again, blindsides dont (frank)ing matter anymore. Yet you keep saying that thinking it does. And it was shoulder to shoulder but what's the point you have your mind made up which is never going to change because you are right and never wrong so why even bother, have a good night arguing with everyone on here again you sad degen

Kronwall should have gotten 2 games based on the fact that Matthews is returning from a shoulder injury and the league has to protect their young stars.

Blind sided him, meaning predatory.

He deserved the suspension. You, and other people here, should get over it.

They said it was .9 seconds.
.6 is the acceptable upper limit.
Regardless - it was bad judgement on Hymans part - frustrated or not, it was dumb.

Babcock said he didn't even think it was a penalty. Two players collided battling for a loose puck, one of them fell and slide into the boards.

McAvoy cross checked him earlier in the game, his team was losing 6-2 at the time and he saw a chance to get back at him. Much like Kadri, he was trying to get back at them and made a mistake out of frustration.

Exactly. If that happened to a Leaf...the same people thinking the hit was ok would have lost their minds.

Exactly and a lot of people have objectivity problems. They see something happen to a Leafs player, they want his head cut off but if a Leafs player does it, it's just good old time hockey. It's just people being biased.

I’m glad Hyman hit macavoy! If macavoy was not a patient returning from an injury-concussion WOULD the hit still have been a suspension? Kronwalls hit on Matthews looked a little more aggressive but...

Not this guy. I don't think the hit was OK but I actually for the first time agree with the refs. 2 mins tops or ya might as well take checking out of the game.

Because they're trying to protect the players, trying to prevent concussions. Him coming back from a concussion and Hyman hitting him late and hard like that in a game they were losing showed predatory behavior. That's exactly why they gave him 2 games.
- Unholy_Goalie

So they protect certain players more than others? I don't see how you could defend Wilson v Seney and say this was 2 games suspension worse.

And fyi, Hyman deserves this. But the precedent says he doesn't.

NHL goes by .6.

So, again, face reality; late hit.

They protected Pettersson didn't they? McAvoy just came back from a concussion. A late hit like that is clearly predatory. The league's job is to protect the players. It was an illegal hit. End of story.

Wilson could have and probably would have hit Seney a lot harder had he not been suspended so many times. You can see he obviously let up and tried to avoid contact and grazed his shoulder. He got tossed from the game because he's Wilson but that's not a suspension.

That's actually not true. There is no defined amount of time. (But yes it was late. Penalties served in the game should have sufficed.)

Most NHLers back then couldn't count that high, or they had to take their glove off to do so. They had no choice but to reduce it.😜

Zach Hyman has been suspended two games for interference on Bruins’ Charlie McAvoy Saturday. Can return Saturday in Sunrise against Florida.

#Leafs only extra forward right now is Frederik Gauthier, so will have to be some adjustments before Tuesday’s game in Carolina. Par Lindholm has experience on the wing and could slide back there.

So they can infer Hymans intent but not for Reaves or Wilson? This is the second time in year that a Leaf player got the "new precedent" treatment and I bet you it's because a Leaf turned Parros' brain into soup.
