I'm feeling pretty glad I had to take off after the first period finished last night.
Looks like the game and this thread turned into an utter poop show. |

2nd most penalty kill minutes amongst Leaf forwards. For what has been a Top 10 penalty kill for most of the season.
Get rid of him for a speed bag who being tied with 24 guys for 54th in goals and 136th in points in the AHL is considered producing LOL |

Never said he was great at defense but he's a million times better than Ennis.
Using my eye I see him coming back and covering for pinching dman. Ennis never does because he's alway on his backside behind the net. - burn
Lol
No, no he is not that much better.
Neither are anything great. |

Trade Brown and Gardiner to CGY for Bennet and a 2nd. (frank) it.
Call up Marchment, Rosen, and Borgman.
Hyman Matthews Nylander
Marleau Tavares Marner
Bennett Kadri Kapanen
Marchment Lindholm Johnsson
Rielly Hainsey
Dermott Zaitsev
Borgman Rosen
Ozhiganov - Arctic_AARDVARK
So, trade gardiner for a 3rd liner?
No thank you |

Marchment is no where near as good as Brown offensively, would assume he’s no where near as good defensively either. Not a huge fan of brown but he’s a useful depth player. Is what he is. |

Useful how?
Kills penalties? Because he doesn’t produce offensively.. and this whole discussion is based around the Leafs adding toughness.. so who the (frank) cares if Brown is gone. |

Yeah, he can chip in here or there he’s a depth guy. I don’t think they need to add players that are tough but aren’t actually skilled enough to be NHL players. |

Marchment would be fine on the 4th line.
Brown is a 4th liner making 2mil who doesn’t produce. |

Marchment is 8th in Marlies scoring.. he doesn’t even produce there that well and he never had a season over point per game in the OHL and you’re complaining brown sucks offensively. People would be sick of Marchement after like 3 games |
|
|
|
Late hit, blindside, yeah can see why they are taking a look at Hyman here in a game that was pretty one sided at that point. Will likely not get too much out of the hearing though I don't think. Anything more than 2 games and it's going to be bs there! LOL
I still think someone more sparkplug and physical than Brown is needed who can be a deterrent, but has to be able to contribute too, not just a knuckle dragger. |

Not if he adds grit...
Obvs he’d be on PK duties, same as brown is.. if you’re on the 4th line you have to unless you’re just a goon. Leafs barely stand up for each other, at least the son of Bryan Marchment isnt a giant wussy. |

I’m sure guys like Wilson will be slowing up on Marner if they get a chance to hit him knowing Marchment is playing 7 minutes on the leafs 4th line. You have to be skilled to be anywhere in an NHL line up, I’d be surprised if this guy would be able to keep up at all. I don’t mind moving on from Brown, he’s going to be too expensive as a fourth line guy anyway. |

He scores 15-20 goals and plays very well defensively.
Not everyone are 80 point players.
if you take off Brown and put Marchmebt in the leafs are a worse team. There aren’t many people who would disagree with that. |

Hyman getting 1-2 games would be fair. Not a repeat offender so it might be just 1 game.
Brown for Sam Bennett. |

Marchment is a career AHLer. Brown is much more useful than Marchment. If they get a player like Bennett for Brown, absolutely, get tougher doing that. But calling up a 4th line plug to replace Brown is just stupid. If anybody got replaced, it'd be Ennis. |
